Perfect keychain flashlight
There are a few reviewers here on Amazon who claim to be "flashlight geeks." I am not a flashlight geek. I'm a guy who does light construction, car and home repairs. (Everything from walls, sheds, roofing, to electrical, and plumbing.) I don't geek out on tools like some cool new cell phone. I *use* them to get a job done. I've had a small flashlight hanging from my keychain for decades. They come in handy for peeking into dark spaces where wires and plumbing go, walking (and cleaning up after) the dog at night, when camping, and when the power goes out. It's nice to always have a flashlight right there at my side and not to have to dig in a toolbox to find one. (Or, more likely for me, to need to figure out where I last put it down. With a keyring flashlight, I clip it right back onto my keyring when I'm done using it.) I've had four keyring flashlights. The first was a MicroMag Maglight with a AAA battery and an incandescent bulb. Had it for years until deciding to get a smaller, thumb-sized light with an old-style LED, but gave up on it and went back to my MicroMag. More recently I bought an LED light that was about the same size as my MicroMag, but had three levels of illumination. I used a rechargeable AAA battery for it ann really liked that setup. Now I've moved in to this even smaller all-in-one rechargable keyring flashlight with a USB port for charging. This little guy is smaller, lighter, and brighter than the MicroMag light and LED knockoff I replaced it with. It has four levels of illumination, a "candlelight" level (that I don't find particularly useful), low, bright, and super-bright that you scroll through with quick presses of the power button. A long press of the power button keeps the the flashlight on high until released. This little guy gets the job done. Pros: * Four light levels, really dim, useful for close-in work, bright enough to see across a room, and bright enough to hunt for something you dropped outside. * Two modes, a momentary on mode that keeps the light on at its highest setting for as long as the button is pushed and a constant light mode that stays on until turned off. * A single charge lasts for hours of regular use. * Smaller than the key fob for my car * Cons * Its small and packs both the LED light and a charger into that tiny case with a lithium battery, so the battery isn't very big. This isn't the light to reach for if you need hours and hours of bright illumination.

Hugely improved metal button, brighter Turbo, MUCH dimmer moonlight mode.
Much much brighter than my previous pink plastic one with the circular rubber button. The metal button is a huge Improvement. Identical UI. The Moonlight mode is 50% or more dim. It's almost a little bit too dim. I like the Moonlight mode on my previous one however I thought it was a little bright. I would have picked something 25% less bright. Also, the beam profile is much more focused and less floody. This is user preference but I liked the the flood beam profile of my previous one better but this is so much brighter. Not just because it's a more narrow beam. So it still lights up the area just as much but there is more of a drop off from the center bright spot rather then a gradual drop off. In the picture the left is the new one, the right is the old one. You can see that the left beam is brighter but more focused. I don't know if this is because the battery is worn out on my old one or it's due to the new LED. The new one flashlight definitely has a different brighter LED.

Functional and doesn't add a lot of bulk, a little tricky to get use to.
I've tried a variety of keychain flashlights: Olight i1r and i1r 2, Streamlight nano, Nitecore tiki, Thrunite Ti2, numerous press and hold LED's and some others I can't remember, a small flashlight that you can use in tight places is always helpful in my line of work. This one is simply put my favorite for the price. It doesn't have a long battery life, I charge mine once or twice a week even though I don't need to. Generally there are flashlights that have superior battery life, Nitecore Tip for example which is twice the size and weight for a 15 minute increase is lifespan, but for general/tight work I'd rather have this and charge it once a week with moderate use than put something that weighs twice as much before the belt clip is installed. I use the pocket clip as a head lamp, we wear a lot of ball caps at my job, it stays nicely in place though I wouldn't use the clip for a belt or pocket if you have keys or tools attached. The pattern to turn on and set the brightness are not as natural as say a bulkier flashlight, I carry an Olight s2r baton II as my primary light which has a way easier button pattern to get use to, but it isn't difficult to use/operate either. As for throw, comparing to the Nitecore Tip due to cost/lumen, you gain almost 20 meters of throw, about 18 yards or so, which I've only used when my dogs were warning me of an intruder and my s2r wasn't handy. I keep it paired with a Leatherman Style PS on a split ring with a Nite Ize S beaner to attach it to my keys, granted that's a lot for a key ring but I only have 3 items besides my fob and key so it isn't to bad. The S beaner comes off my keys and the light/Style go in my coveralls at work and back on when I leave for home. Overall, do you need this flashlight? No, most any keychain flashlight with ~150-200 lumen would suit more than half the people that would use one. Is it a nice backup/small EDC light? Very much so. Would this work for every situation you'd need a flashlight? Depends on your situation, I'd say no, I would probably not take my dogs on a long walk, 30-45 minutes, with this flashlight or any keychain one for that matter. All in all, this is great for people that need a compact flashlight that will easily do what they need when they need it to, throw it in your pocket or purse, use it when walking to and from your car in low light times and when the lights go out in your home. don't think this, or any, flashlight is the perfect light, one doesn't exist. I apologize for this being so long and good on you for reading the thoughts of 1 random person that happens to like EDC and flashlights in general, I hope it helps you make a decision.

Quite Bright Keychain Flashlight
I ordered one of these about 18 months ago, and was initially drawn by the rechargability and convenient keychain size of this. It really does make a nicely sized keychain, and while I can't expect hours of use on high, I use it quite a bit more frequently than I'd expect day-to-day. It's quite bright for the size, and I feel it's held up quite well. It has a simple single button that can be pressed for immediate brightest light -- you'd better believe it's startlingly bright! I use that several times a week to shine a light on something in a dark corner or when looking under something. Also a few times a week to shine a path for my wife to the car in a dark parking area, or when hunting for something in a closet. I went with the bright orange color, which makes the keys easy to see in a drawer. The only wear I've seen is that the plug cover for the micro USB port fell off pretty quickly. Still, it lives in my pocket, and as long as I don't toss it in a pool I think it would be just fine in the long run. If it lasts at least another year, I don't think I'd hesitate to buy another and consider it a good value at this price point.

Will light the way good.
Reviewed this already, i wanted to compare with another keychain flashlight. i feel like there should be other options, and while it looks like there is, i'm trying to not waste money trying to figure out which one is "good" and which one is "not as good." You have to double press the button but i really like how it's one object that doesn't turn into multiple objects and stays connected to my keychain. However, i also recognize the utility and convenance with a keychain flashlight that does turn into multiple objects. But for my needs i will be using this keychain flashlight until i'm "wow'd" by another similar option.

Water resistance TESTED and exceeded!
I was putting a transfer pump into a rain barrel tonight to drain it and my beloved little flashlight and all my keys fell straight in all the way down 34" into the barrel. I thought for sure it would be toast. I spent a couple moments thinking 'WTH do I do?!" The light was still shining but I couldn't reach all the way to the bottom and I couldn't dump the barrel over on its side with 800 lbs of water in it etc so I just had to turn on the pump and wait patiently for the pump to drain out the water. I kept walking up to the barrel and looking in expecting the flashlight to have died but there it was - still glowing in the murky water. The first picture is looking into the water and you can't really tell what is going on because the light from the flashlight was making my phone camera's flash not go off - haha! I finally figured out how to fool the flash sensor on my phone when the water was down to 6 inches or so. If you look closely you can see a thumb drive there too - I'm sure it is toast because RovyVon doesn't make thumb drives! What an awesome flashlight - it took 4 or 5 minutes to get the water down low enough to tip the barrel over. That exceeds what IPX6 is supposed to be able to do because IPX7 says immersion down to 3.3 ft (1 meter) and IPX6 doesn't say anything about immersion. The barrel finally got light enough to dump sideways and there it was still running in amongst soggy leaves (last picture). I love these little flashlights! I have 3 of them in use now and use them 10x what the vast majority of people would use a keychain flashlight because I work at night and up until nearly dawn. They get constantly used and abused and keep on going for a surprising length of time. They are crazy bright - I wish they would make a headlamp because they are better than any of the headlamps I have. They are a great company too - I had problems with one that I bought getting hotter than it should and they sent a new one immediately - and an upgraded version at that! Right on RovyVon! Given the deal they have going on right now quite a few people are getting RovyVon flashlights for Christmas.
