Medium power LED bulbs
In the traditional bulb shape, these worked well in my anglepoise-copy reading lamps. They will do a good job for you as long as you don't need dimming function, and don't need accurate colour rendition because they emit warm white light. This is comfortable for reading and general living-room activities, but not as good as cold white bulbs (4000K) if you have poor eyesight or need light for fine work.
