GMMK 2 96 - Great hardware, Software not so much.
This board is great I have zero complaints. It can support 5 pin switches, and these are north side facing leds. If you already know what switches you are going to put in this board you cant beat the price. You will want to lubricate and tune the stabilizers, or just replace them altogether. To me the stock didn't sound/feel great stock. Aside from the stabilizers the board sounds great out of the box. The unit feels very solid, and the build quality is awesome. The software misses the mark completely. Glorious Core would not load at all. Normal troubleshooting yielded no results. Clean boot/compatibility modes/admin mode/uninstall/reinstall nothing really worked. Personally I would ditch the Glorious Core software and use QMK. I think its worth the time investment in learning how to use QMK with your GMMK2. If your Glorious Core experience was anything like mine it may be a lot less frustrating.

Overall amazing quality
Great keyboard. Overall amazing quality. +Price, This keyboard is a great price for what you get. It is the cheapest barebones 1800/96% keyboard. +Quality, Surprisingly very high quality. For the price I wasn't expecting something quiet this nice. No complaints. +Software, The glorious core software is great. Allows you to program macros, change led colors, remap keys. Very useful. +Support, Glorious has some of the best support around. some cons - screw in stabilizers don't seem to fit without modification, Even the gsv2 from glorious. I tried with 2 different gmmk 2 pros. Both had the same issue. Random stabilizers are stuck no matter what I did. I think the top frame interferes with how the stabilizer lines up making it bind and get stuck bottomed out. -LED colors are slightly off. The sidelight led won't display yellow. It has a very obvious green tint. My gmmk pro does not have this issue. Overall I really like this keyboard. Was easy to build/work on and came out great when finished.

Good But With A Few Problems
Overall, this is a good barebones keyboard for the price. You get a lot of customization via the software which is neat. Build quality doesn't feel the most premium but definitely not bad either. My biggest problem I have is when I updated the firmware to version 0009 it completed bricked the RGB and would not light up or respond on the software, the way I fixed it was FN + ESC then F1 + F3 + F5 (Hold for 10 Seconds.) Everything worked fine after doing the factory reset but I get some occasional flickering on the side RGB light that I did not have before updating the firmware. If you can get this keyboard on sale, I would recommend it, just don't update the software and save your self the headache.

software does not work AT ALL
I've purchased several 65% keyboards in the last few months and this is by far the worst. The keyboard itself is not terrible, but the software is an absolute dealbreaker. If you want to remap any keys, adjust the lighting, or the adjust the time before going to sleep (the default is pretty short)...you just can't. The software appears to have all of these features, but they just flat out don't work. You see the options, but when you click them nothing happens, and sometimes even puts the keyboard in a weird state where you have to unplug and quit the software to get it back to normal. I have never seen software this bad ever in my life. I have no idea how someone could have decided to release it in this state. If they fix the software (which, apparently, they never do), then this keyboard may not be a bad budget option. But until then, it's just an exercise in frustration.

Perfect Base for a Custom Build
I’ve been really happy with this barebones keyboard. It works great and feels very durable right out of the box. It comes with some test keycaps, a switch puller, and a keycap puller, which makes building and swapping parts super easy. It also includes a mini screwdriver and some extra small repair tools, which is a really nice touch in case you need to open it up or make adjustments. The RGB has a lot of different modes to choose from and looks really clean once everything is set up. It’s not too heavy, but still feels sturdy and well-built on the desk. Overall, a great base if you’re looking to build a custom keyboard. Would definitely recommend it.

Amazing
Love everything about this bare bone keyboard! You can download a software to control the profiles and rgb settings, but you can also use kb shortcuts with the Fn key to do this (I saw this on a YT video). It’s my first time building my own kb so there’s a lot more to uncover in this niche, and I’m here for it. I will be taking it apart to mod though, so it’s nice that it comes wrapped in PE foam already. :) Also, there’s definitely some weight to it which overall, does give it a more quality-like feel.

Highly recommend - NOW WITH MAC SOFTWARE
UPDATE 1/2025: They now have their Core platform available for Macs. It is fairly janky and took multiple installs, forced opens, circumventing Apple's malware "protection", restarts, and applying changes, but.... I HAVE CUSTOM COLORS AND PATTERNS NOW. Definitely will buy from Glorious again in the future. --- Super quality build. Gorgeous. Amazing. Everything is great. Except... MACS! The software to fully customize the colors for this IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR MACS. I'm fine with keepin' the colors basic but honestly it really sucked to buy this and build it only to realize that after. I would've purchased the competing brand I was looking at because their software is Mac OS compatible. I didn't test both beforehand and that was my mistake.

Siehe Bild.

Bought the barebones. Easy installation with own switches and keycaps. Comes in a nice box and accessories.

All the keys work for me despite other reviews. Great starter board with a heavy and solid build. I like that the edges are taller too. makes for a slicker look

I purchased this because the Glorious I built a year ago has no volume control, and I wanted one with that feature. I was using a GMMK87 with a volume control, but I found this used Via software, and that software cannot control the RGB on every key individually, which makes it sort of useless for gaming. I know the Glorious would do this, so I ordered this base with the volume control. I sold the GMMK. Disappointed as soon as I opened it and discovered it's plastic instead of aluminum. Why is a plastic keyboard base so expensive? The GMMK cost less than half of this price. But it has better software, so I transferred all my switches and keycaps over. It's OK, but it's plastic. I would go back to my original aluminum Glorious if it had a volume control. This definitely not worth the money they are asking. To top it off, I installed the software. The RGB per key works, but more than half the patterns don't do anything, and just shut off all the RGB. So out of maybe 12 or 15 patterns, half of them Don't work. It seems these companies don't want to make decent software for their products. Next time I decide to build a keyboard (if I ever do again), it's going to be a different brand with software that works correctly. One good thing to note. This base has North Facing LEDs, and this will work on the vast majority of shine-through keycaps. (I still don't know why anyone would build an RGB keyboard and not use caps that shine though). So, if you are using top printed shine-through keycaps this keyboard will work perfectly. The only keycaps that may be a problem on this keyboard are the ones printed on the front (South Face) of the cap.

I definitely recommend this keyboard. However, mine did arrive damaged. The S key wasn't working, turns out the contact the switch goes into was broken off from the solder on the PCB. It was an easy fix though, a guy was willing to fix it for me for ten to twenty dollars. I doubt you'll have the issue as I did because most people don't. My only thing is I wish there were more RGB options in Glorious Core.
