Sonnics 4TB External Hard Drive USB 3.0 High Speed for XBOX ONE / PS4 / Windows PC/Mac

I was very impressed when I opened the box and saw this. It's a good, sturdy, quality build that has a small footprint on my desk. It's very fast, running about 170M for data transfer. The fan can can be heard but it's not noisy. (It's a reassuring hum) I find it incredible value for money at the price point. It's of a quality I would have expected in something much more expensive.

Good quality, reliable & not too bulky for a desktop hard drive. Works well with the xbox x series. This has been a life saver for my boys because they don't like deleting games to install new ones. No more meltdowns because the console is full up. At this price for a 3tb it's a massive bargain as well. I was a bit dubious at first, maybe too good to be true but as it turns out I'm a very happy customer &my boys are too. Really good buy, great item, great price.

I wanted a media store for use with my Panasonic TV, the manual of which stated that it was compatible with exFAT-formatted hard drives. As this comes preformatted as exFAT it made it an attractive purchase. No instructions included, but obvious enough what to do with the various items. The power on/off button does not indicate its position/state. The mains adaptor has the correct 'CE' marking and does not get warm in use. On connecting to a USB2.0 port of my rather elderly Wondows laptop , it was found and mounted automatically. I copied a few files of various types over, powered off, then connected it to one of the TV's USB ports. The 'Media Player' app was able to play/show them as expected (same as from USB Flash memory device). I have since copied more files (mostly video) to this HDD, and have experienced no device-related problems. It is happy to use an old USB cable instead of the supplied USB3.0 cable, which is more convenient for me to connect to PC. I suspect that eventually it could take a long-ish time for the TV to determine the drive's contents. Regarding noise, there is some 'drive whirr', but a rafia coaster provides good acoustic insulation from the surface I have placed it on near the TV. It also makes some other noises, probably associated with head arm movement, but these are only marginally irritating. Overall, I am very content with this purchase.

wow what a awesome piece of kit dint realize how heavy it is"' so shows its quality found it very easy to set up and use just make sure you format it first i have backed up all my files off my laptop and have not made a dent in the memory also relocated all my games to this drive and found it plays much faster off this hard drive then my laptop drive very very happy with this

I bought the Sonnics 2TB External as a backup hard drive. I noticed that quite a lot of my music files were not copying which was a problem. The solution was too format the hard drive from exFAT to NTFS as suggested in previous comments. There are steps to convert from exFAT to NTFS on Youtube. Also, when you plug in the hard drive, there is a black button just below the power supply lead which needs to be pressed to switch on the drive otherwise you may think that the drive is not working. It took me a couple of hours to realise that the button needs to be pressed and I did not find any instructions about pressing the button. The noise of the drive is quiet and very well built. The price is excellent compared to other products.

THIS IS HORRENDOUS. Second one I’ve tried on Amazon and there cheap for a reason, first one wasn’t detected at all by my pc when I tried multiple ports, yet it appear in windows in the top port of the pc case only, yet within 30 seconds of connecting it froze my windows, I immediately unplugged, hard reset the pc and never plugged it in again, about 10 minutes later I had a blue screen, the thing corrupted my drive, I read online after this that the company make second hand and returned hdds supposedly work and sell them on again as new, whilst I was away I read some reviews and thought maybe I was unlucky, so I ordered another one, it arrived badly packaged, immediately when I picked it up it sounds like something inside is rattling about, then I plugged it in and the video below is what it sounds like, I tried to copy a small document folder to this device and it got stuck at 3% for about 15 minutes, then had a fatal crash error appear, it closed down, my keyboard and mouse disconnected for a few seconds, then they came back on, unplugged immediately, wouldn’t be surprised to find it corrupts my windows again, LITERALLY NEVER AGAIN

Works great Easy to setup and use

I got this almost 2 years ago as I wanted to add storage to a cheap minipc NAS., There are two significant issues with this; 1) When plugging in the device, it always starts powered off, requiring you to hit the power button, making it useless for any permanent storage where power loss is something you're expecting to be able to recover from 2) The noise. The drive produces an excessive amount of noise and vibration during operation. I hoped that taking out the internal drive from the metal case would help, and it did, but it was still highly noticeable when in the same room as it. The speed of the drive is good for a mechanical drive, being a 7200 RPM drive internally. However, the amount of noise amplified by the tin can it's in makes it a pretty horrible sound in the atmosphere. It is mains powered, being a 3.5" drive, which means that you'll have to be able to plug it in, between this, the weight and questions of disturbing the peace, this is more of a device in which you'd use semi-permentantly, but, the "off by default" limits its convenience for a bunch of these sorts of usecases.

assez rapide, pas trop bruyant, il chauffe un peu mais l'enveloppe est en métal, donc pas de souci. il faudra voir sur la durée, mais la première impression est déjà bonne.

Bon disque dur externe. Branché sur mon pc pour du stockage. Le transfert est rapide. Je tiens à préciser que ce disque dur est livré avec le cordon de transfert contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire dans les commentaires. La prise d'alimentation est interchangeable. US ou EU. C'est complet donc inutile de dépenser de l'argent inutilement dans un cordon de transfert ou d'alimentation.

Lo compré para usarlo en una PS4. He de decir que la capacidad es buenísima. La calidad de los materiales y el funcionamiento me ha sorprendido. También cuenta con luz lez y disipadores en la caja, lo cual hace que el sonido se escuche ligeramente, pero nada molesto o imperceptible si no estás cerca. Por el precio que me ha costado,... Cumple su papel muy bien y no es lento para ser mecánico. También su peana para ponerlo está muy bien. MUY CONTENTO
