Great starter camera. Value for money
Great starter camera. Value for money. Autofocus needs improvement. The best feature is that the camera can be used continuously with an adapter (DMW-BLK22 AC Power Supply Adapter & DC Coupler Dummy Battery Charger Kit).

EXCEPTION VALUE - PANASONIC OLD MODEL DISCOUNTS WORTH WAITING FOR
Too late for anyone to buy a new one now but it was a huge amount of very well made camera and lens for the money. S5 Mk1s and S5Ds second hand are very good value still. The autofocus is a bit pedestrian but OK if your thing is not sports - or my son's high speed lurcher dog! When Panasonic clear stock of old models it seems that they discount heavily. This is not the first time I have benefited from this and had some excellent cameras for not very much.

Fantastic camera for the money...
Bottom line - a fantastic camera for the money. I've been using mine for 3 months solely for photography, not videography. Picture quality is excellent, lots of features built in. Excellent performance at high ISO. I found the supplied 18-40mm lens a bit 'limiting' in terms of focal length and aperture and bought the 20-60mm lens secondhand ('as new' for under £200...) - a fantastic and underrated lens. I can also recommend the Meike 35mm f2.0 lens for this camera. Looked at Canon, Nikon and Sony alternatives before buying this and have absolutely no regrets.

Linux from Canon
This was actually a gift to my son. He sold his Canon (equivalent model) to release some cash. However, he is delighted with this Panasonic version. He’s added Panasonic S 50mm f1.8 lens and loving it! Obviously more lenses to come, but big saving on Canons….

Good camera with awful autofocus .
Good camera function, features and image quality, but as with the S5 the autofocus is DREADFUL. It's so bad I only use it with manual lenses and an adapter.

I guess this is the best full-frame camera for its price. Of course, it's not perfect and may not be suitable for pro, but for photography enthusiasts it's a great choice.

Macchina straordinaria.
