Buzzing
Just received the Sunba outdoor microphone. The issue is that there is a buzzing sound originating from the microphone. if I touch or hold the microphone by the plastic housing the buzzing becomes much worse. If it comes in contact with anything solid, it will buzz badly. Hanging it i free air reduces the buzzing to a just audible level. I have tried different 12vdc adapters, different outlets and the buzzing characteristics do not change. The problem is with the microphone. It seems that this unit may be defective and is basically unusable as the buzz is directly related to its proximity / contact with anything solid negating it being mounted to anything solid.

So far so good. with caveats.
I am not getting the buzzing sound that someone else mentioned above. It does not seem to be over modulated, either. It does not have a sensitivity control dial for the price, but this could prove useful in better protecting the unit vs the weather. So far, I do highly question the rated 540 s/m area that is advertised to be the functioning range. Usually, audio equipment ends up burning out and has to be changed quite frequently in surveillance. I will update if that happens.

Great Microphone
I use this with my SUNBA 601 Speed Dome which is up at the end of the 350' driveway where the driveway meets the road. We can even hear walkers and joggers as they pass by. Also the birds and other wildlife.

Clear Sound
Built solid. Easy to install.

Over Modulated
This mic is really loud and distorts, even with the gain turned down to ZERO in the interface of the camera NVR system. I looked for a screw to reduce the levels but it does not seem to have that option. The birds chirping make this a very annoying add on because it is so loud and piercing.. looking for a way to cut the highs.

Excellent outdoor microphone
This microphone has excellent sensitivity and sound quality. It works very well with Sunba cameras, and all other IP cameras that have an input for a microphone. I love the outdoor rating (for both moisture and temperature) of this mic as my camera and mic is always outside up in the mountains of Colorado (snow, rain, wind, heat, pollen, pine needles, etc)

Worked for about 48 hours
Installed this as per directions. It worked fine for about 48 hours or so, then it was dead. Disconnected it all, re-connected it again and nothing works. now it sits in a box.
