Not for us
I expected more of a boar bristle brush, but it felt like plastic all around. Very rough and the plastic bristles didn't seem that they would work well to break up mats and tangles. Not sure how durable it would have been, since I returned it right away. The handle felt nice enough to hold and it might work for a larger dog, just didn't seem the right thing for my Cavalier.

Comfortable - could be firmer
This brush is comfortable to hold in your hand, and my pup hasn't complained about the feel of it either. It's only drawback is that the longer plastic bristles aren't quite firm enough to reach all the way through the undercoat. I'm dealing with a very thick coat, though, so with a thinner coat this brush would be an excellent buy.

OK but not great...
I had another brush that actually did a better job than this one but it was discontinued. This one appears sturdy enough and well made but doesn't seem to get very deep and therefore doesn't extract as much hair as my past one. Still looking.

Best brush for my Chihuahua
My boys don’t mind being brushed and this actually removes undercoat and dander

My Golden Retriever loves the porcupine brush!
My golden retriever dislikes getting brushed, but she doesn't mind this porcupine brush. She stretches out when I brush her and then rolls to the other side to get brushed.

Good Brush
I got this brush for my dogs and I love it. Works real good on their double coat. Use it four and five times a week

No good
I hate to give a product a poor review, but I cannot imagine any dog that would benefit from the use of this brush. Does not penetrate the hair at all.

Probably best used on a dog that does not shed
The brush does a minimal job of collecting fur. Probably best used on a dog that does not shed.
