Braun Make Clocks
I'll admit I never realised Braun made alarm clocks. The name is synonymous with quality shaving products, so I was really happy to get to try this alarm clock out. This is what I'd classify as a travel alarm clock, as it takes AA batteries and has no USB-C charging ability. It's a shame none are included in the box, but I bought a set of alkaline batteries as we normally use rechargeable batteries (warning: the manual says not to use rechargeable batteries), and we were up and running. There are also no instructions in the box, which is good for the environment, but after a Google search, I found some. It’s pretty easy to set this clock up. I needed to reset it to start, but then it was pretty self-explanatory from there. It has a volume settings, although the current level isn’t shown on the display. The display is bright and clear. You can pop the backlight on for 10 seconds by hitting the big button on top. This is a real help for someone whose eyes take a little time to adjust in the morning. It also has a visual indicator for whether the alarm is set and an AM/PM indicator. The alarm time is displayed in smaller text below the primary time.I like the fact that the alarm has its own dedicated on/off switch, which means it’s easy to change when you reach out a hand in the dark when you wake up.To snooze the alarm for 5 minutes you hit the big button on top.Something I’ve never had before and seems a little strange to me is the hourly time announcement. I’m trying to think what scenario this would be used for. Nice, but not essential for my purposes. All in all, it is an excellent, solid product. I’m unsure how long the batteries will last, so I will update the review once I have run out of the first lot.In summary, I feel it’s a high price for an alarm clock, but you do need to consider that it’s well thought out, solidly built, and from a brand that you know you can rely on. It also comes with a two-year warranty.I would have said this would fit the market for people without smartphones who would use it as an alarm. Perhaps an older generation, but then the price does seem a little high for someone in this category who is on a pension.I’m interested to hear other thoughts.

Overall great but could be better
This comes in nice Braun retail packaging, and looks good as a gift. These are my main highlights for this product:✔ Large easy-to-read display✔ Compact and stylish design✔ Simple controls✔ Voice works well✖ Very expensive at RRP✖ No instructions (but available online)✖ Uses non-rechargeable AA batteriesAs you can see all the main things about this clock are great. It seems particularly aimed as a travel clock, being AA battery only and very compact. The speaking function is clear and very well implemented, nobody will have any complaints there. It has all the basic functions such as alarms (obviously!) and snooze, but there is no radio included, which is a bit of a letdown especially considering the price.Overall a great little device and worth about £30 in my opinion.

Excellent.
The clock is brilliant. It looks and feels really well built and has a reassuring heft to it.It is very easy to set using the mode button to navigate. The voice is really clear, loud enough and sounds a little bit Martin Freeman to us (a little).Overall, the great quality you would expect from Braun and we can not fault it.

Neat, easy to use speaking clock
Nice little alarm clock. It looks decent and is very easy to use. The big display means that those reduced sight will find it slightly easier to navigate and use, and having the speaking element of the clock is a great addition. As it is small and lightweight, this is ideal for bringing on business trips etc and doesnt take up much room at all. The clock takes 3x AA batteries (not included), which are easily fitted to the rear of the clock. The alarm on/off button is a large up/down switch on the rear of the clock. I have forgotton to turn it on due to that a couple of times as it isnt immediately visible, but I am slowly getting used to it now.No instructions are included but it really isnt difficult to use. It is a bare-bones alarm clock with a speaking clock built in. From what I can see, the speaking element cannot be switched off - presumably as this is ultimately what you are paying for with a speaking clock. One thing that I did find a bit annoying was there is no BST clock adjustments (British Summer Time, clocking going forward & back) - as we dont enter the date. I could of probably forgiven this in most cases, however as this is a £50 alarm clock I feel this should be a feature of a clock at this price sold in the UK. Its a minor point though.4/5 stars. Shame about the BST thing, but it is otherwise a solid clock, ideal for work and travel.

Good but a little pricey
This speaking alarm clock is well made and easy to use. It generally works very well too. The only stumbling block is the price, although it is made by a well established premium brand, it is in my opinion a little expensive for what it is.

Good quality alarm clock
This alarm clock is generally easy to set up although you need to figure a lot of it out yourself. The clock is good quality and it feels sturdy. It’s easy to operate. The face is easy to read.

Nice solid quality alarm clock, but not sure what warrants the £50 price tag!!
I received this item via the vine programme and here is my honest and unbiased review. This is a really nice alarm clock, and you can tell immediately that it is very good quality. It does everything it is supposed to do.Battery powered so no facility to charge it, which is unusual.I have to say that I really really like this, but at the same time, I really cannot understand why it is £50!!!!Price is ridiculous!4 stars, but needs to be a more realistic price!

Straightforward speaking alarm clock
Very clear screen and big button to press to hear the time. There are no instructions included so it's either trial and error or look online where you can find the instructions. Good size for on the bedside table or even for travel, as it's battery operated so no cable required, shame it's not rechargeable though.
