Good, solid wooden table with a slight sheen black finish
This Furniture 247 dining table offers a 6-8 person expandable dining table solution at a similar price point to a well known Swedish brand of flat-packed furniture - without having to visit that store's large, warehouse style premises or pay for what can be rather expensive truck delivery. The table arrives flat packed and a small amount of assembly is required - 8 hex key screws, plus washers and sort of sprung washers, two of each per corner - to install the table legs. The Allen key needed is supplied. The tabletop itself is pre-built and the bex containing the spare leaves is held in place with screwed fixings. The table is well made, from solid wood. Very solid. And very heavy. It's certainly a robust feeling table - the instructions include a reminder to retighten the screws 2 weeks after installation, and every quarter subsequently to help maintain the security of the fixings. The table design is simple, sleek and quite minimal. It could easily be paired with a variety of chair types to create significantly different looks - including clear plastic chairs, funkily-painted or upholstered upcycled vintage chairs creating a dramatic contrast to the black, or something more similar in style. The stated 6-8 person capacity seems reasonable. I'm planning to use this as a crafting table - as it's a robust table with plenty of space to accommodate sewing machines, die cutting machines, fabric, patterns and cutting mats plus associated paraphernalia. The plain black finish has a slight sheen to it - akin to the slightly shiny effect you get from an eggshell paint. On the surface of the table, there is a very, very slight amount of wood grain finish visible through the black coating. I would have preferred to have been able to see this more clearly all over, giving the table a bit more of an organic feel than the slightly plastic look of the almost uniform black. The underside of the tabletop seems to have a thinner black coating, allowing the wood grain to show through more than elsewhere. My suspicion is that the fairly thick coating of paint will help to prevent the surface from scuffing and scrapes. When building this table, you need a reasonable amount of space to work. The table needs to be upside down to install the legs, and then flipped over. This wasn't terribly difficult to assemble. Although assembly is pretty straightforward, this is definitely a 2 person project when it comes to lifting the box and righting the assembled table. This is quite big and heavy - with a gross weight of 54.7kg and net weight of 45.7kg NOT 33/25kg indicated in the item description.

Well-made, solid, adaptable table
Quite simply, a well-made, solid, stylish but, adaptable table.Being made of solid wood rather than veneered chipboard, it’s reassuringly weighty. However, that means the box it arrives in is not easily manoeuvrable. The tabletop with its extra leaves comes already built, so putting the legs in place is all the self-assembly required. Necessary fixings and Allen key provided. Also, if you intend using them, the extra leaves are held securely in place underneath so they don’t gradually work their way apart as with some cheaper self-assembly tables. At its fullest extent, it makes a sleek, long table that would sit six in comfort and eight without much of a squeeze.Given the simple styling and that ‘basic black goes with anything’, this table has potentially a thousand uses. Any number of different chairs would work with it to create different effects. Its satin finish perhaps lends it to bachelor pad or at least child-free living. My one concern is how well the finish will stand up to more robust family life. However, a well-made table that should last and good value at the price.

well made and solid.
I am not sure I was expecting this table to be as good as it is. It is heavy. it is solid wood. it is easy to assemble. it is solid and robust. It is simply designed and is such as would go with a variety of seats and décor. it will sit 6 with comfort and 8 with ease. This is a really well made solid piece of furniture which is good value for money. Impressed. Highly recommended.

Dining Table
I really like this table - it's a simple design that can be customised dependent on the chairs you put with it. If you want a classic look it looks great with vintage white wood chairs, but it also looks ultra-modern with hairpin legs on a scsndanavian style design. We rarely have it extended due to space, but at it's smallest, it's a perfect sized dining table for a family of four.Assembly was easy-ish, space was an issue when unpacking as the solid wood is hard to manoeuvre and it's easy to nick and damage, but this isn't really the table's fault, it's just a thing about wood...oh and the box is extremely heavy. I would get the delivery driver to put it in the room you're going to build it in if you can.The manual says to check the fastenings every two weeks and tighten them every 3 months, as wood can slightly change shape and expand with temperature. I would do this just to be safe as it's a really heavy table that you definitely wouldn't want to fall on a foot, or a child.Overall I am very impressed. 'Furniture 247' though not the most quality-appealing name, for a solid wood table in white, got t say i'm really pleased.
