At 57 I found out about this book from a friend who had success for both her and her husband. I wanted to try it to get my health in check, not just loose weight. 9 weeks later I’m down almost 30lbs. I feel amazing and I love eating this way! The food tastes amazing and there are now two recipe books to add to the variety. I’ve learned a new way of eating that I can see my self living by for the rest of my life. I learned what proper portion sizes should be and I never feel like I’m starving or deprived in any way. The balancing of the sugar levels is key. Also the benefits of the light walking recommended has helped my blood pressure drop 20 points! I know there are some things that may be a struggle for some, like drinking a lot of water and no snacking . But if you want to change your life for the better, you do need to follow it. You can be a bit more experimentative and no longer have to weigh foods when you finish to phase 4. I never cared for cooking, but the meals I’ve learned to make are simple enough and so tasty that I feel like I’m eating in a gourmet restaurant every day. To sum up, the only way this program won’t work is if you don’t follow it. I told myself , if I’m going to do this , I’m going to do it 100%. No one can deny the life changing stories of the ones who share their HBD stories on Instagram. Now I’m happy to be one of them!
