The king of cyberpunk
Trilogy of thought provoking stories. The best cyberpunk there is, still visionary and relevant today.

Glad I saw a recommendation for this trilogy
The trilogy is worth the time, not an easy read I’ve needed to back track to find were I lost the plot. I don’t normally bother with reviews . Neuromancer sets the scene., i’ve just finished Count Zero I’m moving onto Mona Lisa. I’ve been enjoying them and if you like lots of different topics including sci-fi give them a go and if you like them try Sea of Rust. different author equally is good

Gibson's best trilogy for a generation.
Being a long time Gibson fan this is a nice re-seleeving of the books. They arrived in excellent condition, so I had no complaints, managed to snag them at discount price as well, which was nice.

Only got these recently but
About 50 pages in and I already enjoy the writing style and the world setting of Neuromancer. For the modern day wording doesn't seem too foreign, most of these terms have been floating around for years now and anyone consuming media should be familiar with them. You may want to look up words borrowed from Japanese, but I don't think it is necessary for understanding the plot. Whatever you need to understand is well explained by the author, everything else is just a flavour. I can see where Lana and Lily Wachowski got their inspiration from for their Matrix movies. Similarities can also be found in Ghost in the Shell (the original 90s anime).

Absolute Classic
Please stop claiming that this series is "The Matrix". This is no video game or "book of the game" but an absolutely brilliant piece of writing done at a time when the net/ web was barely in its infancy. The idea of VR, AR, AI may have been a dream for a few others along with Gibson but not us mere mortals. Now we have them and that makes this series slightly scary! When you read them, do yourself a favour. In Neuromancer, let yourself just be absorbed in the words. There's not much of a narrative but it lets you learn the language for the next two. Are there "heroes and villains"? Not really. Forget the tags that are over-used, "utopian" or "distopian". It's different. Not Wells, not Lovecraft, not Dick. It's Gibson and is a one-off. Buy it, read it, enjoy it, love it. If you ever get marooned on that Desert Island, make this your choice. It's not a once only read. It will be some time before it becomes history - hopefully!

I never really read this collection of books until early 2000’s. I just couldn’t get into it enough because of how my AD/HD made visualization of the books world. I tried again and the Deus Ex novels won over this collection. Then recently my favorite genre cyberpunk has gained traction and after a few cyberpunk anime films on amazon prime I decided to buy them all and try again using money to motivate me into finishing them. Good news I mastered my AD/HD and enjoyed the cyberpunk genre I was afraid of using cyberpunk 2077 aesthetic or Bladerunner to visualize the world. I was wrong the books are written so well I could take bits and pieces of other elements from the genre and modify it to fit. Reading the first book showed me how much these books are important nearly every single cyberpunk series ever. I am blown away it has that slight cultural blind spot from the era it was written in my only critique. These books are in no way perfect but the collection and what you gain from reading them is valuable. If you’re a fan of dystopian future science fiction or cyberpunk genre in general these are the books for you. I am finally indulging in this world of cyberpunk to ride the wave of resurgence in a way I never did before. Before investing in Shadow Runner pen and paper games or something cyberpunk related read these books. They have the sources of the foundation of this genre and starting with do android’s dream of electric sheep and these books will help you understand and grasp everything you need to know when getting into the world of pen and paper games. I wish I read them sooner but it was always computers and psychology books with comics and games here and there. Don’t think don’t ponder just buy them read them and donate them to a library or keep them. If you are a sci-fi fan at all read them now because after people born after 1996 may not understand them fully pretty much everyone between 38 to 50 should read them at least once.

The single best opening line ever (if you know, you know). If Blade Runner, the Aliens universe, Jonny Mnemonic, or anything cyberpunk tickles your pickle, you need to read these books.
