Great replacement

I am using this on a riding mower to power a pull sprayer. I replaced a cigarette lighter that did not hold up to the weather. Seems to work well. The plug is a tight fit. I think it is to keep the water out.

I have an older boat that I just bought and bought a new trolling motor for it. The power plugs did not match so I ordered this receptacle so I could use the new trolling motor. when I was going to wire in the new connections, I found that the old receptacle had 3 wires to it instead of 2. I was going to return them. On the way to the UPS store I stopped buy a Marine dealer and talked to them. They said my plug on the boat was obsolete and that I needed a 2 wire connector and told me how to wire it in. Easy fix! Trolling motor works fine...Now I am ready to go fishing!!!

The Minnkota plug replaced my worn out Minnkota Plug. Since MinnKota wants 80 bucks more I decided to replace it with the Motorguide. You must replace both the male and female parts, but not only do they work, the female receptacle fits perfectly (Including the screw holes) in the hull into the hole where the female MinnKota receptacle was. As other reviews have noted, the fit is extremely tight and difficult to plug in. To remedy this, I sanded a bevel on the bottom edge of the male plug. It now goes in easily and is still a very snug fit.
