I like Portable External Hard Drives as opposed to the cloud because I believe they provides more security for my data. When I plan to be away from my home for an extended period, I simply unplug them and store them in my safe. Additionally, in my experience with my business Seagate Hard Drive I found them to be very sturdy/durable when it accidently gets knocked off the shelf it is laying on. I also liked that they offered me 3 data storage size choices (2TB, 4TB, 5TB) but for my needs the 2TB was all I needed. Finally, their small/compact size (physical) means they fit nicely bundled together lying next to my powered USB switched hub.

I usually dont write reviews, but I felt compelled to do this... Seagate's manual doesn't include Mac setup instructions, which is probably why some people think this hard drive isn't compatible, but it absolutely is. After doing extensive research, I found that you don't need to download anything. The only thing required is a quick setup on your Mac: 1. Plug the Seagate external hard drive into your Mac 2. Open Disk Utility 3. Select the external hard drive from the list 4. Click Erase (top right) 5. Rename it to whatever you want 6. For the format, make sure you choose EXFAT (this is very important)!!!! After that, it works perfectly. For the other key points: - Functionality / Computer recognition: Works perfectly once formatted correctly and is recognized without issues - Portable / Compact size: Small, lightweight, and easy to carry around - Scalability: Great for general storage needs like files, backups, and everyday use - Power source: If you have a newer Mac with USB-C ports, the included cable uses USB-A, so you'll need a simple adapter or a compatible USB-C cable So if you're seeing reviews saying it's not compatible, that's incorrect. It just needs to be formatted properly first.
