I’ve already read one of Kevin Kwan’s books - he is very descriptive, bringing you into his story.Ordered 5 of his books (including the one I already read) to enjoy over the winter months.My order arrived earlier than expected - but I’m hoping for a late MN winter.

I enjoyed reading these books after seeing the movie. Interesting characters and lifestyles

Great read n they were delivered on time!

I laughed out loud, cussed some of them and cried with them too! I have 4 sisters and numerous in laws that are just as flawed as this family. It kept me enthralled through all three books. I have friends that I can picture as some of these wonderful characters. I wanted to read the books before I watch the movie. I hope it holds up. And I can’t help wondering, are there going to be three movies or is it the condensed version? Would LOVE for this to be a series. Thank you Kevin!!

Great read but the printing is small hard to follow

Overall, I thought this was a great trilogy and read straight through it. Having first saw the movie multiple times, I was gratified to find much more story in the books and some differences in comparison. Kwan is a very gifted writer. I was amazed by the complexities and imaginative presentation. If I had to think of one weakness, it might be that, with all the different characters and omniscient narrative point of view, none of the characters are allowed to achieve truly great depth or complexity. Still, I was able to develop real sympathies, both for and against.

I had surgery and was down for a few weeks. Ordered and got them the day after. I loved the books! The movie is definitely missing some key moments and details. Can’t wait to see what they do with the next two movies.

Kevin Kwan is now one of my favorite contemporary authors. This book is hilarious & at the same time very educational about the topic!
