Conté à ParisCrayons - Sketching Colors, Matchbox Set, Set of 4

New to the medium and this was good way to try to see if I like using these and without a lot of cost.

I’ve been seeing a lot of the reviews before I bought this product saying how upset they were that the conte crayons came in broken, that does not mean they are useless! In conte it’s a practice to break the conte crayons into smaller pieces to have better precision with whatever you are drawing so technically the shipping saved them a step in the conte process. Other than that, the product I got came intact and it is a good quality and easy to use

I’ve never used this medium before and wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it. They’re very small, but don’t let that fool you. A slight mark becomes a formidable stroke. A spot becomes a hefty shadow. Not much needs to be done, because the quality is so good. The texture allows for an almost interactive experience. I felt almost like I was sculpting my work, rather than drawing. And I loved it. I bought the right paper to go with this and am glad I did. Make sure you do that.

Great LITTLE MATCH BOX set of Comte crayons (Sanguine, Bistre, Charcoal, White). Comte is Comte nothing to proof in terms of quality, richness of texture etc. However, the supplier sent me a well packed box, BUT with broken Comte and when I opened it I thought that was not cool at all to receive such little parts. I still use it anyway, but I am not sure I will reorder from the same front store.

Pretty good, but I was surprised that they were so small. Only about 2 inches long and about a quarter inch wide. I hope they don't break on me LOL

If you have never used conte crayon I highly suggest this set as it has 4 colors you can try. I love conte crayon for its high pigmentation and smooth application. It blends really nicely, and they tend to last a long time.

The media could not be loaded. I was hoping to use these for a class that I am taking, but I wasn’t sure if they were going to be required yet. I decided to barely open them since I’m finally going to use them but turns out they arrived broken. It’s too late to return so I’m going to try to use them as best as I can. They’re very fragile, similar to compressed charcoal or graphite sticks. Overall, the pigment is good but unfortunately they were broken before I received them.

Came in perfect condition, the only thing that seemed out of place was the fact that there was no protective plastic wrap around the little box. Besides that I've been using these conté crayons for 2 days now and they are perfect.
