I Like Convenience
So this item was a request by my husband, who kept insisting it would "change my life". I said ok, it's not hard to make a grilled cheese, but I bought it anyway because it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, and boy lemme tell ya.....we use this machine probably 3 times a week MINIMUM. While it can't handle the giant, gooey, cheese-melty amazingness that I call a tuna melt, it does make literally so many things so much easier to make. Normal grilled cheese sandwiches for tomato soup comes out super fast, quesadillas are super easy, and more. My husband thinks he's some sort of panini machine/sandwich maker guru and he's not wrong. There are so many options with this machine. Buy it.

Poor design, disgusting results.
What a crappy design. Pockets are too shallow so they can’t handle too much cheese between the bread. Cheese leaks out of the sandwich maker and into the crevices. There’s no way to clean it unless you remove all the screws to open up the machine to remove all of the gunk that accumulates. See pictures. I can’t imagine the amount of bacteria and mold that would grow there had I not opened it up.

The box was not factory sealed and appeared to have been previously opened
I just received the item and opened it immediately for inspection. However, for a high-priced product, I was very disappointed with the packaging condition. The box was not factory sealed and appeared to have been previously opened. I purchased a new product, but the condition of the box makes it feel like an open-box or used item. Please review this issue and advise on an appropriate resolution.

Not what I expected
I purchased the T-fal Compact Sandwich Maker, I think because the reviews are between two products the 4-5 stars are for the grill not the Sandwhich maker. We have had similar products in past that typically last about 5yrs with good results during the life of the product. This one is not one of those. We tried egg and ham first and because of the height of the center ridge the egg white and yolk barely stayed in and with a slice of cheese when closed it burst at seems first leaking the egg the the cheese once liquified. The pockets are not large enough to hold much at all. Previous products the pockets are deeper on base and center ridge lower allowing filling to remain stationary as the top is pressed down. The top having the pronounced ridge to create the triangle potions once cooked. Returning this one and will order brand I had last time.
