I think I paid $5 or so for a hundred strips. That is a ridiculous price. As to how they perform: I definitely work, I mainly got these to read the nitrate to help me run to plant a tank. I have the API test kits but they're a pain to use. I found that I probably will still use the API test kit frequently. It just seems to be more accurate. The seacem test kits for nitrate and phosphate may even be better than the API ones, they are certainly a lot easier to use. Anyway, everything was as I would have expected. I think these test strips the accuracy is like plus or minus 30% or something. The pH reading seems to be right on though. It will get you in the general ballpark for sure for all your parameters. But you're not going to be able to maintain an exact 5 to 10 PPM accuracy window for nitrate with these I think. By far the worst aspect about them is how pungent they smell chemically. I don't think I would dip this directly into my aquarium. And it comes with a little tube so you don't have to do that. Just saying! I think if you only have a few particular parameters you care about, and you don't want the smell, you might as well just buy a test strip with only those things. More tests isn't necessarily better in all cases. It does come with a thermometer as well, which probably will get you in the ballpark as to your tank's temperature, but I wouldn't rely on it for accuracy. But really, all things considered, if you just want a cheap test kit and know the ballpark of all your water parameters really, this will do the job. And the price is phenomenal honestly the test strips will probably go bad before you use them all. The nitrate and nitrate at least did on my other test strips, most of the other parameters are fine. They tend to absorb water from the air if you don't keep them dry and that ruins some of the tests.

Purchased these to monitor a new tank. I used the strips frequently through the first week, paying particular attention to amonia and nitrate levels. I made adjustments to alkalinity based on these readings as well. All the while, my new fish died one by one. I tested the water using a strip this morning and all looked good. I brought a sample to the fish store, where they used another brand of test strips and also dropper-based tests. Turns out, all the values I had been seeing were way off. The pH was significantly lower, and most importantly, the nitrates were totally problematic (recommending a 75% water change to correct!). The strip had shown 0 nitrates in the same sample!! Although they seemed really convenient, it was too good to be true. These strips are absolutely useless if they're inaccurate. I wish I could return them and am sad that so many fish died in this process. Will be switching to non-strip methods of testing to avoid this in the future.
