Yes, as a number of reviewers pointed out these bags are thinner than the brand name Food Saver bag. However, it really doesn't matter. These bags hold a vacuum and keep food just as fresh as the brand name at less than half the cost. No freezer burn, veggies last just as long in fridge. I don't find the non-waffle side curling up like the brand name. This makes them easier to seal.More important: The last 2 rolls of the 8" X 20' Food Saver bags I bought were defective. Parts of each roll sealed and parts not. I used up about a quarter of each roll trying to see the problem was my Food Saver or just the 2 rolls of bags. Since they seemed to seal some of the time I came to the conclusion that alas, my Food Saver was dead. I spent over $100 that I couldn't afford on a new one. When my new Food Saver arrived I was eager to vacuum seal a bunch of food I had purchased. I found that my new machine wasn't sealing any more consistently than my old one. I now knew with certainty it was the Food Saver bags that were defective. They sealed just as inconsistently on both my old and my new devices. The defective brand name bags led me to spend money on a new Food Saver machine that I didn't need or want and couldn't afford.---- The point of all of this??? These bags are a better quality.---These bags were not defective, are much less expensive and perform just as well, and in this case even better than the brand name bags.

I use a FoodSaver V2244 low end sealer and these rolls work perfectly with it. At 25¢ a foot it's the best price for 8" rolls I've seen anywhere. It sure beats 50¢ a foot for FoodSaver rolls at Target. The material is slightly thinner than the FoodSaver rolls. They are plain with no markings to guide your cut and no "write on" area. I use a strip of masking tape to "write on" and they stick to the bag even in the freezer.. I've bought other size rolls (6" and 11") from the FoodVacBag company and I really love their good prices, prompt delivery and great products.

Not all vac bags are equal...SO happy to have found these! We gave up the big heavy unit of vac sealer, and went back to the smaller personal size, so no need to fit rolls into the sealer. These are extremely well made bags, they seal easily every time, no waste. We love the 50 ft. rolls at such an affordable price. We also buy their larger 11" size.

Received the order from FoodVacBags Bags & Rolls in very short time, and the bag material is well suited for my needs. Though slightly thinner than foodSaver brand, works just as good, and I have had no problems. The price is much better, for sure. Need the material for storage of large fish, and the 8" is perfect for longer seatrout, bluefish, spanish mackeral,etc. Useing 12" material is just too much waste in most occasions, and premade bags are too short / small. I dont understand how others can charge so much and still stay in business. I will be ordering more. as needed from this company. I highly reccomend the product, and the company to friends and other shoppers.

I have been very pleased with this product. I found after buying our food saver and getting a supply of the food saver brand bags that we primarily use the 8" version. These being 100 total feet for considerably cheaper (than the brand name bags) I was willing to try them. I must say I have had no issues with these, they seal very well and vacuum well as long as I have the textured side facing up, not sure why that is but the vacuum seems better when the texture is up. I have had a few bags of this get lost in the freezer and they still appear good 1 year after initial seal. Highly recommended.
