Recommended by my Registered Dietician and taste delicious!
I love these bars! These bars were recommended to me by my registered dietician, so you know they are healthy! She told me they have the best ratio of macros (proteins to carbs to fats to overall calories). Plus, the flavors don't all taste the same like some protein bars on the market. The blueberry and salted peanut ones are my favorite, but they all genuinely taste good! I will say if you have issues with weird textures, this bar has a chewier texture than other protein bars, but the taste makes up for it! I will continue buying them and only them!

excellent if all you care about are the macros
Normally I eat Quest protein bars. They're available almost everywhere, they cost about as much as most other protein bars, lots of different flavors, and have what I consider to be acceptable marcos. I also like Barebells, because those are close enough to a "real" candy bar to feel almost like a treat and not just a way to get some extra protein. There are bars that taste better than both Quest and Barebells, but they probably have more calories and/or less protein. I try to benchmark off of ~200 calorie, ~20g protein, and there are a lot of options at those levels. Beyond that, everything is subjective when it comes to taste and texture and whatever else. That said, these David bars are weird if you're used to the denser options on the market. The bar itself is very light and fluffy, which I was not expecting, and that is true for all the flavors in the variety pack. Of all the flavors, they fell into two groups for me - 3 that I would eat again and 3 that I would not. I would put Fudge Brownie at the top. I think I feel this way because the bar itself is chocolate, and the two PB options, Cookie Dough and Cake Batter are all pretty similar. Regardless, it is my easy winner of the 6. Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk tasted basically the same to me, but I still liked them and did not feel like it was a chore to eat them. So these 3 would work fine as things I could eat regularly (1 bar a day). As for the rest, Blueberry Pie was actually good as well, but I just don't think I would want to have that one all the time. Cake Batter I did not enjoy and Salted Peanut Butter was just like Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk but with salty crunchy bits mixed in and no chocolate. In any case, those just did not do it for me and I would not try them again. However, I'm not aware of anything else on the market that can do 28 grams of protein at 150 calories. If you are chasing macros or are in calorie deficit or just really watching your calorie intake, then freeing up 50 calories while getting 8 additional grams of protein is a pretty big deal. I think a lot of people would put up with stuff that tastes a lot grosser than any of these bars to get that.Lastly, the price on this is definitely on the higher side, but what do you expect? Until/unless other companies start selling bars with similar macros, it seems like it is worth it to pay a premium if this is a thing you care about.

David, how could you?
I first tried David bars last year sometime when they first came out, and did enjoy them, though didn’t reorder because of the price. But lately I’ve been seeing a bunch of ads for them which put them back on my radar, so decided to order the variety pack to try them again. The good news? They all tasted amazing. I loved the taste, especially the salted peanut butter. The texture was absolutely awesome, just about the best bar I’ve ever tried. I admit the blueberry tasted nothing at all like blueberry but was tasty in its own right as long as you didn’t think of it as blueberry. I was all ready to look into seeing if there were sample packs of the cinnamon roll and the red velvet, the two flavors i hadn’t tried. But then the bad news. :-( I had checked ingredients when I bought them last year but hadn’t bothered to recheck again with this new batch, but when I did I found they now contain maltitol, sucralose, and ace-K. I will never willingly touch maltitol ever! What a bummer. I’m so disappointed. Not to mention, I’m also T2 diabetic and these bars raise my BG by 30-40 points. So, sadly, I won’t be ordering David again unless things change. But keeping it 3 stars since taste and texture is amazing and if you want a good protein hit and don’t mind the new sweeteners you might be happy with these bars.

Expensive but worth it
These are the best high protein bars I have found. Higher protein than most all, soft chew and better flavors than most. I have tried many, many versions of protein bars, these are the best I have found.

Excellent tasting.
Bought the variety pack, LOVE the peanut butter flavored bar. Will update as I try each flavor. I like that the peanut butter flavor is not over sweet tasting. The texture is excellent too.The birthday cake flavor is good too. If the other flavors are this good I will definitely be ordering more.

Great tasting!
These are really good and very satisfying! I got the variety pack and still have more flavors to try. They have a cookie dough consistency as others have observed. Will buy again for sure!
