The Classical Utilitarians (Hackett Classics) First Edition

This is a challenging read for those who are not well versed in philosophy. JS Mill’s On Liberty, is in this text and he says many thought provoking things that seem to speak to the predicaments our culture finds itself within today, especially to the danger of not letting diverse opinions exist within a culture. His words on trying to deeply understand an opposing viewpoint are inspiring.

This book was purchased for my granddaughter for college she says it’s great!

Great book but I didnt use it as the class that said it required it I found the info online

I got the kindle version for class and it was very frustrating to know that this book does not contain page numbers. It's very hard to follow in class when the instructor points you to a certain page and you can't follow. Some books on the kindle has the pagination function these days, but this specific one doesnt. So to the students out there, be wary of that.

This is one of those philosophical reads where you appreciate the mind set, but not the ways to get there. Any decent man would say Mill was a respectable person with good genuine intentions, except he didn't believe in intentions, merely actions. I do not agree with utilitarian aspects, but a wonderful, challenging, delightful read it was.

good theory book

The seller sold my son this book for college, it was ordered December 18th received it January 13th, the post mark was from New York, the the book came rolled up and it had a crease down the middle and doesn't lay flat. when I emailed the owner he said he was sorry and had run out of mailing boxes so didi it that way and then told me it was almost new. I payed for NEW. won't use him again
