I owe two AE 1200s. The first, which comes in your regular resin strap and the second is this one. This one has a more premium feel to it. With it's bronze resin case and brown leather strap it gives it a premium feel. The Casio Royales look fantastic in leather straps and this one achieves those looks without any need for spending extra money on leather straps. Quality leather straps are hard to come by in India, especially for AE1200. And if you were to import it then the strap will easily cost you 4-5000 INR including import duty. So, in that sense it's a great saving. The build quality of the watch is no different, which means it's as same as the old AE 1200. However, the bezel looks a bit more premium. The clock on the top left corner looks like it has been glued if you watch it closely. Which is quite strange because in the black one it doesn't look like that. The size is perfect for a 6-6.5 inch wrist. It doesn't look bulky and features are as same as it's predecessor. The leather strap is supple out of the box. Which means that it won't be having much longevity. So, I won't be wearing this watch too often and will wear it only when I feel like in some casual occasions. I won't treat it as a beater watch. If you're looking for a leather strapped AE1200, then go for it. Leather strap won't give you a sticky feeling on your skin like the resin strap gives. And it certainly elevates the look and feel of the watch.
