desertcart.com: Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2: 9781506706627: Square Enix: Books Review: Great but Not Enough FFVIII - Love this so much, but I have to agree, for people like myself whose favorite is VIII, we’re not getting as much content as the other two games in this book. FF8 only features 69 (nice) pages as opposed to FF7 with 113 pages and FF9’s whopping 125 pages. I genuinely feel VIII is very underrated and it’s vindicated by this fact, but either way, I still adore this book. The content has some REALLY gorgeous art, interesting looks into storyboarding and initial drawings, and the binding and cover are definitely a nice quality. I really would recommend this for Final Fantasy fans and am planning to get the other two volumes. (I just wanted the one with my favorite installment first) Review: Nice Gift - Plenty of knowledge about described Final Fantasy titles. There are multiple versions of the Final Fantasy Ultimanias. The quality of the book is very sturdy, vibrant, and paper used is pleasing to the touch. Over all I enjoyed these and have them displayed.

A superb art book covering the PS1 era of final fantasy!
Tons of great art, character concepts, unused content and more! Even has the original design documents from back when FF7 was planned to be an n64 game! Sadly as expected, ff7 has way more extensive content than the other titles, FF9 actually has the most pages, but it covers less topics. FF8 comes in last with only about 60% of the length of the ff7 section. But regardless of your favorite PS1 you're sure to find lots of great content and beautiful artwork! This book is well worth the price, even at MSRP! (now if only amazon could not dent up EVERY hard cover book I order... this is the 3rd time..)

A good book for fans of final fantasy games
If you love Amano's art this is a great way to access it. Although some of the art is small, lots of it is good sized. There are lots of facts about the game's development and even things like concept maps for areas. If you love final fantasy games you will like this publication!

Phenomenal collection!!!
I bought this book for my best friend as his christmas gift, and apparently i now want one for myself as well lol. This book is heavy and the paper is high quality material! It includes tons of nostalgia for the old ff fans out there including Galleries, facts, hero and story backround of each character from the golden era of ff series (ffvii, fviii, ffix). Its a must have collectible for every final fantasy fan out there and a 100% worth its price! U gettin nostalgia and game galleries in high quality pages for dirt cheap!

Cool Book with Good Artwork
This book covers FF VII, VIII, & IX. If this was the FF generation you grew up playing you will definitely enjoy the nostalgia of revisiting each game and their beautiful artwork as you page through this book.

Not bad. But if you know a lot this might be worth passing
I bought Vol. 1 & 2. I know everything about FF 8, and a LOT about 7. This really didn't offer anything new, especially for 8. It's nice to have everything in 1 place (sorta like those old simple fan sites from the late 90's and early 2000's) but in book form. Despite only referencing 7-9, I was disappointed by the content. I expected more for the book only having 3 games. Maybe interviews/ more quotes. Maybe some more information on the music or sound effects, something more. I think Vol 1 would be a better deal for most since it contains 6 games with decent coverage on each. It's partially my fault for knowing damn near everything about FF 8 and thinking this book might shed some light on anything unseen. While it technically did teach me a few new things, the read felt more like going through a game booklet/ strategy guide. There was however a few new scraps of concept art that I had never seen before but... it was a let down. That being said, if you love FF 7-9 then I suggest you buy this. If you are yearning for a nostalgic trip down memory lane and want you reread the game booklet but in large-book form with concept art, creator quotes on the series and an overview of the story over about 50 pages (Along with character and location commentary/loot information) then buy this book. It's not bad at all. But I was hoping to find out more about my fav FF game. I did learn quite a bit more on FF 7 and a LOT on FF 9. It'll make a good gift based on nostalgia alone but also for anyone who is a fan and wants to become a super fan.

Imo, these are the 3 MUST OWN titles in the entire Final Fantasy franchise. I'm surprised these books aren't more popular because they truly are an amazing insight into the games. A nice and cozy side piece of information to the games. Extremely high quality and well made. Delivered in pristine condition.
