Student Solutions Manual for Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives 9th Edition

I bought this solutions manual to accompany the book. It covers most of the word and mathematical problems in the textbook. The solutions manual solves the problems and explains the solutions in a very easy to follow manner. The only "issue" is that it seems like the text and solutions manual were written by two diffrent people and solve problems using diffrent approaches. It shouldn't be a problem for anyone that has some finance courses under their belt.

Great resource. This allows me to do my homework and then review problems that I have missed to rework. Thorough solutions and an awesome study tool.

I suspect that every student in a University options and derivatives course will purchase this book. I did and I am glad that I did. Very few people will be able to learn a complex topic like options and derivatives without doing problems. This solutions manual provides some sign posts to understanding how to solve the problems and gives the correct answer.When it comes to complex mathematical derivation, however, this book leaves something to be desired. I suppose that this may be good for University instructors who assign problems that are in the solutions manual. Students who simply copy Hull's answers, without the intervening steps, have probably not done the work.Hull is also a popular resource for people learning options on their own. In this case, the solutions manual may be problematic. I have found it difficult to follow many of Hull's derivations. He shows you the steps, but does not show you how he got from step to step.An example from a recent homework was problem 11, in Chapter 14, part b. I was able to set up the differential equations, but I was unable to see how to simplify the equation to arrive at the result that Hull gives.This is a book that virtually everyone who buys Hull's text book will purchase. Especially for those doing self-study, it's too bad that its not more complete.

This is a great resource to go along with the textbook. The questions from the book are reprinted and the manual provides a summary of how to get to the correct answer. I would highly recommend for anyone taking their first class on derivatives as it will significantly cut down on confusion.

Clear concise answers. Sometimes you are left scratching your head on intermediate steps but I feel that forces you to understand the principles thoroughly.

This solutions manual offers a good check to the work done for the problems in the text. As another reviewer noted, answers are not provided for the "Further Questions" at the end of each chapter. So, if your class relies more on these problems, the solutions manual will be less useful.

The manual is a helpful review to see if you understand the basic concepts from the chapter readings. For the most part, it was easy to flip back to the main text to review the theory behind the solutions given.

This contained the solutions so without this I would not have know if I was doing the problems correctly.I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.Also it doesn’t have the solutions to ALL of the end of chapter questions. These should added.

I opened the package only to discover that the book has a bent in it. As a perfectionist and a book lover, this is something I cannot stand..Book itself is very useful when studying this course.

Clear explanations provided for the questions in the book.As the solution manual is for the 7th edition, not all questions will be explained in the latest version of the book. Also, the solutions provided are for Practice questions only and doesn't cover the part on Further questions.Overall worth it.
