They worked fine to take off the shock but we were unable to get the shock on the new strut because the ends were in the way. Then we couldn't get them compressed enough because the tool only lets you compress a certain amount until the two end get in the way. Also the hooks are pretty straight and it was difficult to position them on a curved surface. We were working on a Nissan Altima 2008. We eventually gave up and paid a mechanic to mount the spring to the strut. This is the first spring strut compressor I have ever used in my life so I'm not knowledgeable enough to write a helpful review. The tool is very sturdy, didn't break, didn't slip, didn't bend.

Strong, works for taking off, not back on...
The tools arrived in a timely manner and were packaged for shipping as expected. Jecr Compressor is the perfect length and not bulky, as well as a great price. It allowed me to compress the rear coil spring of a Mazda 3 to remove the spring, but I was only able to connect one side of the clamps (top and bottom) due to the location of the spring. Like the other review, the base of the coil spring housing did not allow for any wiggle room. I was able to use a socket wrench to tighten the clamps with ease. Only giving 4 stars due to the fact I only used them to take the spring off. Other than that this is a great product for the price.
