GREAT SHIRAZ WINE but needs breathing or decantering
Bought two bottles, one for a friends 60th, and decided to have one for myself. Came in a very nice presentation box giving it the impression of being quite special, which it was. Others have commented about the plastic cork coating being a nuisance but although you have to carefully cut it off prior to opening it adds to the occasion. I think this coating is there to allow you to cellar the wine for drinking in years to come protecting it from becoming aerated/corked, and i think this wine would indeed taste even better if you were to cellar it but life's too short to wait. However like others have experienced the cork pulled apart in the bottle neck and took several careful attempts to extract which isn't good. It's a wine that really does need to breath, easily 12 hours plus, its pretty intense and needs to mellow. Its initially a very bright wine both in appearance and taste. I drank mine over two days using a vacuum stopper, and day two was even better than day one. It was a thoroughly enjoyable wine so much so i bought another three, two for gifts and another for me, disappointingly when i received the three bottle delivery none arrived in a presentation box which sadly cheapened the purchase and the impressiveness of it being a gift..

Aussie shiraz at it's best!
Excellent wine which goes with anything but getting more and more difficult to source. For tasting notes ...... ask a wine snob!
