Incredible taste
Purchased meat for meatball recipe , Was surprised to see it was from Pat Lafrieda , Meatballs came out great , Tasty and juicy , Has enough fat for flavor . If you like lean chopped meat for burgers or cooking , this probably won’t be for you , I have made Burgers and meatballs with this meat several times and was satisfied . Coming from someone who Frequents numerous steakhouses throughout the course over a few decades .

Lean Ground Beef
Just experienced this today after church. Lots of grease, especially for it to be "lean", in the skillet and on the stove top, since it was cooked on the stove and not grilled, but the flavor was fantastic. I really enjoyed them. There again, pretty pricey but really good.

The quality is very good and the packaging is easy
LaFrieda is what you are eating at a lot of restaurants. Their website says the beef is small farmed no hormone. I believe this is the lowest level they provide, not organic or all grass fed, but stated higher standards than tyson or any other big meat producer. The quality is very good and the packaging is easy. Every thing we have ordered has been fresh, clean, no smells. For ground, this is my favorite choice on fresh, even though its not organic, its just good quality works in any recipe as you would expect. I prefer the 90% lean. It was sold out. Still not that fatty.

Not sure why everyone is freaking out
I had no issues with this beef. Cooked up and smelled fine. The consistency is not what you see in the picture though, it's more of the consistency of when you buy ground beef in the tube. But again, that's just how it looks raw. It cooks up totally fine.

Great meat. Made hamburgers with it. Delicious.
Ok I must say this is my first time making my own hamburgers. This was the perfect meat for my burgers. I added a little ACCENT seasoning, made them into balls and then flatten them to grill them. Bam!!! I got myself four hamburgers. They were delicious.

OK, If You Are Thoughtful In Using It
This ground beef seems to elicit strong feelings in folks, not always good ones either. Is it the finest quality product on the market? Absolutely not. Is it a suitable product for some tasks? Sure.I probably would not use this product to make hamburgers or anything where the meat is front and center in the flavor profile. As many have noted, it can be a little off (part of that is the packaging, letting it rest outside the original packagebefore cooking will help that), and it does seem a bit more fatty than most 85/15 product I find in a grocery store.But there is a place in my menus for this, usually combined with the ground pork from the same source.Spiced meatloaf, meatballs, meatsauce for lasagna or other red sauce Italian dishes, stuffing for peppers and eggplant, taco mix, enchilada casserole, along those lines of use. Basically, this is a product I am willing to use when I know I am using lots of other flavors along with it.In normal, pre-pandemic, days, I never would have bought the Pat LaFrieda ground meats here on Amazon. But current challenges in terms of provisioning mean I have to be nimble and adaptable.This is available while my local stores are sold out. And it is very convenient to acquire and to freeze. One just needs to be thoughtful about how one puts the product to work in the kitchen.

Not bad
I like that it comes in air sealed packs. Helps keep the meat fresh and it makes it easier to store in the freezer. Good flavor, I always drain the fat out when I cook.
