Gorgeous moisturizing oil
What an amazing scented oil. Long lasting without being migraine inducing. I shower at night and feel certain I will smell this on my clothes the next day. It is warm and slightly spicy, and I totally get why it’s called Sacred Santal. It invokes feelings and visions of strength and meditation. It absorbs completely on damp skin and works just as well on dry skin, a rarity in oils. The texture is lovely and not oily at all, and feels almost like a dry oil. It spreads well and evenly. It comes in a beautiful dark brown glass bottle with a pump that does not dispense too much at once, as a little goes a long way. The bottle is slightly larger than most other oils at 4.2 ounces (most are 3.99 or 4 ounces). I did mix it with a vanilla oil because it goes wonderfully with vanilla and because it is a bit strong. It’s pricier than other oils, but totally worth it. You can mix it beautifully with other warm scents and you just don’t need as much. I am so impressed with the scent and the quality characteristics of the oil. I highly, highly recommend it. If you like the scent profile, you will not regret this purchase.

Lightweight and not greasy; vanilla scent is a bit overpowering!
I have a lot of body oils that I’ve tried, and most of them are really just for purposes of improving hydration. While this one promises to do the same, I also like the skincare aspect in that the company has included a soluble vitamin C to help brighten the skin. Other notable ingredients include Ecotin to help hydrate the skin and squalane, which is really good for supporting the lipid barrier. The formula is very lightweight and does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It absorbs really well and quickly, so I appreciate that. I can’t really say how this does with brightening as I haven’t used it consistently and long enough to see any type of results like this.As for the scent, they were spot on when they named this “Vanilla Verve.” Though the fragrance promises hints of bergamot, green cardamom, and even Peru basalm, all I can smell is the vanilla and amber. It basically smells like a very strong vanilla cupcake. Many would have no issue with this, especially if you love vanilla. I, however, am not the biggest vanilla lover. While I appreciate the warm and sensuousness the amber and vanilla bring, I was also hoping for some spicy or even woodsy notes to help balance the sweetness. All you get is sweet, so I find myself wanting something a bit more complex. You get 4.2 ounces of body oil for $38, so I would say that it’s on the pricier side for a body oil. I’ve tried a few products from this brand already, and I’ve enjoyed them. That being said, I would probably look at some of their other products rather than necessarily purchase this again in the future. Now, if they came out with this body oil in their Crescent scent, I would purchase every single bottle. I think that’s more a reflection of the scent though not the product itself. A few more final thoughts…if you’re getting this with the sole intention of brightening or helping with hyperpigmentation, I’d say you’d be better off investing in a different product. While it’s unclear what the exact concentration of vitamin C is, I’m thinking that it’s not enough to make it worth using this product long-term for that reason only. Besides, in my experience, there are just far more effective treatments out there if that’s what you’re looking to target. Now, if you’re primarily getting it to use as a body oil and just enjoy the added benefit of having the vitamin C, then it would be more up your alley. So, just understand what it is that you really want out of this before you decide if it’s a product for you.

Nice scent. Leaves skin soft.
This feels like a luxury, high end product that you might get at a spa. I put it on my body after my shower when my skin is still damp. It absolutely feels like an oil coming out of the bottle but it absorbs shockingly quick right into the skin. It left my skin feeling soft and dewy but not greasy or oily. The scent is a little bit earthy with the most distinguishable note being vanilla but it's richer than just that. I don't particularly love pure vanilla scents and I do like this so while I can't call them out individually, the mix of other notes works. Now with that said, this is definitely a scented product and it will linger. I don't think it's overwhelming but if you smell your arm even hours later, you will still smell it on you. So if you typically like to wear perfume, I personally would choose one or the other so the scents don't compete. Now while I think the product is really very nice, I have 2 issues with the bottle. First it's glass. Considering that you're advised to use this on damp skin after a shower or bath, there is such a high chance that this could slip out of your wet hands and break all over your bathroom floor. I really had to hold on to the bottle tightly as it's very smooth and I could easily see dropping it because it's slick and heavy. While I understand using glass because it's a high end product, you could have given the bottle some texture so help hold onto it. But frankly, plastic would be safer. Second, the spout where the oil comes out is too short. Because of my fear of dropping the glass bottle, I was trying to leave it on the counter and just squirt some info my hand but that's nearly impossible due to the shape and size of the push spout. It's not long enough to get your fingers/hand under it to catch the oil. It sort of runs down the side of the bottle. The only way to not have oil leak is to pick up the bottle and tilt it when pushing to get the oil so you pump it right into your hand. But then you're back to risking dropping the bottle from your wet and now oily hands.Overall, good product but bottle needs redesign.
