Q: What is the maximum rpm this sensor can handle? fyi, i need something that can go as high as 40,000 rpm.

The specs state 2.5 ms reset time. According to my calculations, 40,000 rpm with one reflective strip equates to a reset time of less than 1.5 ms. Therefore it would not be expected to work.
