This Gotham Steel pot is a pretty neat idea. The handles actually lock into place and there is a strainer built into the lid so that you can focus on safely dumping the pasta water out of the pan and into the sink. That's pretty much the extent of the innovation as otherwise it is just a pot. My only minor complaint was that I had some rogue spaghetti noodles that tried to escape and clogged the ports of the built-in strainer. Not a big deal but I think it makes me question if $40 is really worth it for this pan's features. 4/5 stars.

This is my favorite cooking pot. It cooks evenly and easy to clean. The strainer built on the lid works great, I don't need to use a strainer when I cook pasta.

As described. Like the easy lid lock drain feature. Reasonable quality for price.

This pot is on the thinner side and is very light. I feel if I dropped this by accident, it would bend or the handle would break. The plastic the handles are made of seem strong but the clicking mechanism to lock it doesn't feel very solid and has alot of give. This is not made for the rough and tough cook I don't think. That being said, it's a cool, light pasta/stock pot! It functions well and I think coming from stainless steel and actual heavy ceramic cookware, this pot feels like a toy in comparison. I do like the concept. The handles themselves rotate and click closed and open although there is alot of give when turning the dial. It doesn't feel very solid but it works. The lid stays on well and you can drain water very easily without spilling pasta. This works for veggies and other things as well. The pot itself stayed hot and was non stick at low heat which makes it easy to clean. As with any non stick pot, if you use high heat, things will stick. It's still easy to clean. Overall, it's medium capacity at 5 quarts and held enough pasta for 2 people easily. This comes priced around $39.95 at the time of this review which is average for a pot like this. It's a little light for my preference and doesn't feel very durable. In this price range, I still prefer my stainless steel pot as it's thicker and can be dropped without fear of denting or bending. Also, this has a claim to be oven safe but the handles feel like they could be plastic and could melt in the over but I haven't tried it. All that being said, if you like lightweight non stick pots with ceramic coating, this may be a good option for you!

For the price this is a decent pan. It's not the heirloom quality, have it for life, hand it down to the kids, cookware. The product description gives you all the dimensions etc., so I cannot complain that it seemed smaller than I thought it would be. I'm not sure 5 quarts is large enough to cook an entire box of spaghetti without breaking it up. The pan is VERY light, I like my pans to have a heavy bottom for better heat distribution and this pan does not. I like the lid configuration and it works fine but it's all plastic. The product says it's dishwasher safe and it is, but read the fine print, hand washing is recommended if you don't want the pan to get discolored. Overall this will work fine for a while for what it was designed for.
