It Works
I like that this product actually works. It takes very little serum to thoroughly cover my face, it washes off easily, and it really makes a noticeable difference. What more can a woman want?!?!

Only need a small amount to moisturize.
It is important for customers to adjust their expectations of products that state they are to diminish/"erase" lines and wrinkles since in reality one cannot completely eliminate the normal aging process without actual surgery. But it is true that the lines or wrinkles can be made more soft with continued moisturizing or the other away around with products that firm skin which some acne products do but they dry you out. Sadly there isnt yet a magical product that works in one application, this is a process and continuous upkeep. Now with that being said, this serum does moisturize with out feeling greasy or leaving residue on skin.Note: The box and bottle that I received are a bit different from the advertised photos show. I thought that the serum would be clear and very fine liquid as the advertised photos shown but it turns out that the serum is actually a light white color and a slight thick consistency. The serum does turn clear and more liquidy after applying it to skin which then it is adsorp by the skin leaving it smooth with only using a small amount. The serum does have a smell which is not terrible but could be better. It is hard to describe the smell, it does have a musty undertone but not overwhelming. So I personally don't think it's a dealbreaker since the smell doesn't last but there is room for improvement. So far I have used this serum a few times and it does make my skin feeling somewhat soft. I will continue to use it to see the longer term results. Also this serum is not overly expensive as other products in the market and only need to use a small amount of serum. So its worth trying it out and continue using it.

An OK Retinol with a Lack of Instructions
Having tried other retinol in the past, I thought that I could speak on how well this formula compares. The MD Selects retinol serum comes in a dropper bottle, and the color is like other retinol serums, having a creamy yellow color. The consistency of this serum is more like a cream being relatively thick, and due to the dropper of this serum being small, I would recommend about nine drops to your face at night. When using retinol, it is best not to combine it with vitamin C products (unless the product includes a Vitamin C in it). Overall, from using the serum the last week, the product works very similarly to other retinol though it doesn't seem to be as potent.PROS:1. The value of this product isn't bad2. With consistent use, it will work eventually.CONS:1. The bottle is not tinted for light protection, and there is no mention of the light sensitivity of this product. Retinols are light-sensitive, meaning it should be applied at night, and the storage of retinol should be out of direct sunlight. Other manufacturers have chosen to put their retinol in a dark-tinted bottle to provide better protection.2. There are no instructions on the bottle of the product. While the box of this retinol has directions, the bottle has none.OVERALL:I think there are better retinols you can get for the price. From using other retinol serums, there are ones that give better instructions and context for the use and pairing of this product. While the product does work, it doesn't work as well as it could with other products.

May work.
I think it’s mostly working if you believe in it and apply it frequently. I tried to reduce the bag under my eyes with it and that turned out to be wishful thinking. Fine wrinkles, however, may be reduced. That wasn’t my goal, and I do admit that the internet source claiming effectiveness of Retinol in general may not be all-knowing.Having said all that, I couldn’t figure out what an activating serum is compared to serum itself.

May be helpful
I have droopy eyelids and I use retinol on them to help keep them from drooping into my eyes (not a pleasant experience!). I've been using this serum a couple times a day for almost a month on my upper eyelids and it has been somewhat helpful. I haven't used it on the rest of my face; even so the 1 oz. bottle is almost empty. I do have other products that I also use that have greater amounts of retinol in them (2.5%); this product does not show the percentage of retinol so I'm assuming it's less than 2.5%.This is a milky white liquid and has no scent. As far as it having anti-aging effects that's doubtful since I'm now 69 and I just started using retinol products about a year ago; I'm just happy if they keep my eyelids from sagging. I do appreciate that it's made in the good 'ol USA!
