Great vaue, great taste and very pretty
Wow! Everything was spot on with this order --zero complaints. GREAT value. Bought these for a pink/gold themed baby shower after seeing how expensive they were on etsy. After shipping I think they averaged about $3 a pop. I unwrapped them all, coated them with edible gold paint (used a sponge brush, coated twice over 24hrs, held up fine to open air around 75-80F and high humidity) bought cellophane bags, and tied with pink and gold ribbon. Did the math and after all the extra stuff it came out to about a buck a pop. Personally this sort of treat grosses me out but everyone (adults and kids) were chomping away at them at the party and I had some people asking where I got them from so I highly recommend purchasing these!

Perfect for my son's geode birthday cake!!!
I am sooo pleased with this product! It was exactly what I was looking for to complete this cake! I needed loose crystals for the geode effect. The candy comes off the bottom 75% with a light twist side to side...effortless. The top 25% was a little more challenging to get off the stick but gave me the big chunks I needed for cool effect. This way of getting loose crystals is sooo much better than buying them on a string! Also, if you are purchasing for actual candy on a stick, you also will not be disappointed...the flavors are absolutely DELICIOUS. I wasn't sure if it was just going to be plain sugar or flavored...but they are sooo yummy and the flavor is reflected in the color i.e. purple is grape, etc. Also the colors are vibrant and shiny...just A+ all the way around!

Good, some random bad sticks
I absolutely love rock candy, so I decided to try this brand, as I have been craving it for awhile now. I've had 4 so far, and I'm pretty disappointed. They are okay, but the initial taste is terrible, almost like poison, and once you get past that, they ALL taste exactly the same. It's basically colored sugar, with no real distinguishing flavor. I've tried many brands, and they are supposed to have different flavors, but these do not. I wouldn't buy this brand again, especially because I know how they are supposed to taste, and these just don't taste the way they should. I gave 3 stars, because hey, it's candy....I'll still eat it....just not as advertised or expected.Update: I have had about 10 more candies since my last review, and they have ALL been great! Not sure if the 4 I had were just bad, or what, but I'm upgrading my stars to 4.

This brand has large, distinct crystals. Fun to eat. Tasty flavors. Educational for kids.
You get several tasty flavors plus some with no flavoring added. The crystals are larger than the other brand I have tried. More fun to eat because I can break off a crystal or two and eat them like little sugar nuggets. It's very hard to do that with the other brand because that brand's crystals are smaller and blobbed together more tightly. The other brand has fewer flavors and doesn't come with sticks that have no flavoring. I prefer this brand though the other brand has very, very tasty flavorings.Get this brand for a fairly quick to eat treat similar to a candy bar. (It actually takes longer to eat and has fewer calories than a typical chocolate bar.) Get the other brand if you are one of THOSE people who can lick an entire ice cream cone without biting into it even once. I have no such restraint.By the way, rock candy is a great way to introduce the fascinating world of crystals to kids. Especially this brand. Show them these huge crystals then look at table sugar to show off that it is also made up of crystals. Tiny crystals. So is salt. Use a magnifying glass. Then show off an amethyst. Quartz. Mica. Diamond. Talk about the different shapes of crystals. This can eventually lead to a rousing discussion of how elemental things combine to form other things. Use how yellow plus blue creates green while yellow plus red creates orange as a springboard to the fact that copper plus tin creates bronze while copper plus zinc creates brass... and the elements of hydrogen and oxygen form water, H2O!I know. That sounds a bit crazy but I caught a little girl at just the right age and ability and she ate up this lesson. Literally. In the purest sense of the word "literally". Haha! She "got" it and ever since then has asked much more sophisticated questions about the world. Rocks are no longer just rocks and she is much more curious about how things are made. Rock candy is a sneaky way to introduce kids to geology, chemistry, and even physics. So fun! And tasty!By the way, look up the instructions on how you and your kid can grow your own rock candy! It looks pretty easy, though not for a kid to do alone given it includes boiling water. It's also a long process. No candy for a couple weeks. It sounds fun though. And edible.UPDATE: Our third "jar" was as tasty and fun as the first.

None of mine were broken.
Firstly I want to say that they taste good and the price is a bit high but still within reason.Secondly: I see a lot of reviews complaining about them being broken to pieces. I’m not saying that it didn’t happen. But mine came packaged in a plastic carton WITH air pocket things to protect it. This company is doing all they can.I think what happens is some packages are handled very roughly and if the sticks are banging around the carton (or worse dropped) then they will shatter like egg shells.I do notice these sticks crumble much easier than I’m used too. In some aspects I like it because it’s easier to bite pieces off but it also makes a mess when I do bite pieces off.To all the parents out there:If you have 2 or 3 little tykes and plan on giving one of these to each of them be sure to get the vacuum or you’ll have little sugar crystals all over your carpet. They hurt to step on too!
