Future Pop

I really like the songs Future Pop, Let Me Know, Tokyo Girl, and Housekino Ame (the last two are either identical or almost identical to the single versions - I barely can tell a difference on Tokyo Girl). The other Single Songs (if you wanna, mugenmirai, etc) are all identical to the single versions. The remaining new songs are alright. It's still Perfume! :-)

Every single song on this album sounds amazing. There's a brilliant mix of EDM and more typical Jpop style on every track, and fusion hits HARD! An absolute must have for any fan of perfume.

Very good! I think (so far) that I like the songs on Level 3 more but their singing just keeps sounding better and better. Good mixture of songs on Future Pop as well.

If you like the last few Perfume albums this will not disappoint. Songs are catchy and vocals typical of the band. †he song "Fusion" leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion as there are very few vocals and the music is too industrial in myopinion. A great effort from this group!!

Great import from Japan!

Perfume has always been one of my favorite J-POP bands. I've written reviews of their previous albums which in my opinion were very enjoyable. Although this album is OK, the songs are not as strong as their previous efforts. Gone are the catchy melodies, brilliant arrangements, and interesting chord changes. In fact, it's hard to remember what the songs sounded like after listening to them. It's almost as if they came up with a few motives and were forcefully trying to turn these motives into a song. The edginess, originality, and freshness have disappeared. Some of the songs (in my opinion) sound like they are trying to model their style to resemble top hit music from the USA.(Listen to cuts 3,7,9, and 12.)Another thing I'm wondering about; Is it possible that some of these songs are "left over tunes" that never made it on to their previous albums? I say this because some of the songs (in my opinion) sound like they resemble tunes from previous albums (only they don't sound as good).On the positive side, Perfume is a good band, capable of creating very interesting, edgy, and enjoyable music. Although they have reached a minor slump here, the album is still pleasant to listen to. It's just not as good as what we heard in their previous albums. I look forward to their next "outing" with curiosity, as they still have the muster to create a future "five star" masterpiece.

As usual the usual superb performance from Perfume!

Perfumeのアルバムは全て聞いていますが、今作は前作のような曲一つ一つに個性が強い曲がある感じもなく、初めて聞いたときはあっさりした感じが否めませんでした。近年シングルとして出すfuture bass風の曲もあまり好みではなかったので、微妙かと思いました。しかし聞きこんでいく内に今回のアルバムはアルバムとして纏まりが非常に良いアルバムだと感じました。起爆剤のようなキラーチューンは無くても、一枚分最初のStart-Upから最後のEverydayまで飽きを感じさせず全曲聞き通せるアルバムだと思います。前作に関しては、個人的にシングルも後半に纏めていたことや、Remixが多いことであまりアルバムとしての纏まりがなく、一枚のアルバムとして全曲聞き通すことはあまり無かったのですが、今回はどの曲もスキップせずに一つのアルバムとして聞いています。

This record tracends anything I’ve ever heard from Perfume before.It has such a nostalgia to the beats and even though I don’t speak a word of Japanese the emotion is enough to bring my heart warmth and my eyes water. One of my fave albums of 2018 worth every cent!
