This is exactly what I am looking for," "just in case" accidents, or capture some cool things. The camera quality is very good, the video quality is also very good. The price is the key factor I want to spend only a few dozen dollars I am adding a quick instruction for this comment, hoping to help future buyers. When the camera charger is plugged into the cigarette lighter, the camera will light up all the time, or I bought a cheap one. Switch the cigarette lighter adapter, I plug the camera into it. Then I just flip the switch on the adapter to turn the camera's power on and off. Easy to use. I wrote the setup instructions:• The device must be in Pause mode to change settings. When the unit is recording, the recording time of the segment is displayed in red at the upper right of the LCD display. When you press the OK button, it will pause recording and the color of the timer number will turn white.• Once in the pause mode, press the “MENU” button once to enter the mode to change the resolution, cycle recording (cycle time) WDR, motion detection, audio, date stamp, gravity sensor, parking monitoring, light settings, license plate number.• Press the “MENU” button twice to enter the mode to change the date/time, language, frequency, screen saver, format, default settings and version.• After entering one of the modes, use the up and down buttons to scroll to the condition you want to change, date/time as an example. It will be highlighted in light blue.• Then press the “OK” button to enter the window where the settings are actually changed. You can then use the up and down arrows to select the correct date and time. Press the "OK" button to move to the next date or time conditional segment.• After completing any setting adjustments, press the “MENU” button to exit.• The “DOWN” button can also be used to mute recordings while in recording mode. The microphone symbol will be red to indicate that it is in silent mode.• To view the recorded video, you must stop recording mode again. Press the “MODE” button twice to enter the viewing mode. Short press “UP” or “DOWN” to move to the file you want to view. Press “OK” to confirm the playback. Press “When playing”. UP" or "DOWN" is fast forward or rewind. You need to check the rear camera video file. Press and hold the “UP” button to stop playback.

I bought this for fifty-eight bucks about 2 months ago from this writing, here's what I have found. It's worth the money especially compared to the price of other dash cams found at your local store. It isn't perfect, or even user friendly, but it does what it says, well most the time. It does on occasion like to turn itself off then back on, happens usually twice during a one hour drive, causes maybe a 10 second recording gap, it also doesn't save a clip randomly, I have mine set to record 3 minute clips and I'll generally have one gap in recording a day. The manual is useless and doesn't explain how to do much, kind of have to figure it out as you go, the seller is responsive to questions if you have any, but as I said, it works. The parking guard is nice, but very sensitive, and you'll have to turn the the device off and back on if it decided to go off when you got in the car and you subsequently turned the car on while it was recording, or it will continually stay in the parking guard mode cycling on and off at the set recording time. Running the cables was easy and straight forward, though this is car specific. I did have an issue with the charger which the seller quickly replaced with a new one. All in all I don't hate it, it functions... Usually... And I'm not at all upset with the money I spent.

This is my first dash cam, so I do not have any to compare to...however, I am giving it 5 star because I personally think that this is a great product for its price. When I got the package, I was like woow....the boxing was quite impressive. The quality of the camera is great....similar to those regular small camera with metal casing. The installation, for a person who has never done anything like this before, was actually pretty easy for both front and rear. The biggest challenge is to find the correct 'path' to hide all the wiring, which I was able to do on my mini cooper clubman. Installed yesterday, and I am quite impress with the quality of the videos recorded from the front. The rear camera, however, it sub par to me, but can't expect much for comparing to the front. The quality of the sound is sub par as well, but again, for this price, can't beat it. The night vision is OK as well.So, again, for the price of this dash cam, I am giving it 5 stars............and I am happy with my purchase. It does give me more assurance in driving. I am planning to get another dash cam for my wife's car......may be something different ?
