Does it become hard once set? Wanting to use as a mother mold

It never sets - it remains soft and pliable. I would use hydrocal for the mother mold or reinforced fiberglass with epoxy.

This product does not cure at all. It remains pliable indefinitely

Does this putty maintain its shape once molded, like modeling clay, or does gravity cause it to melt back down?

Yes and it was very easy to work with. it did not stick to you hands and you could mold it very easy.

Wrap around outdoor speaker wire (binding post connection) for additional waterproofing? Want something removable for winter storage of speakers.

This is potentially messy for that application. Try using E/FUSING 112 to wrap wires to protect them from elements.
