This book is one of the best I've seen in this field. Quite easy to understand and a nice layout . If you want to start learning English or just want to improve your level, this book is a good beginning.

内容はとても良いが価格がちょっと高いので星４つに下げました。

こちらの本は、英語学習者の間では有名な定番書ですので、文法を学び直したい方にはオススメします。 （まだ初めの数ページのみしかやってませんが、レビューします。） 私も今回初めての購入なのですが、スマホアプリでこちらの無料版があったのでやってみたところ、とてもシンプルで明解な英語で説明されていたので（説明と言っても長い文章ではなく、豊富なイラストや簡単な表を使っての視覚的な説明のみ）、日本語で説明されるよりも、いとも簡単に理解できてしまいました。 で、スマホ版も良いのかも知れませんが、画面の操作や文字入力がまどろっこしく感じ、また紙の本であることの利点（答えを手書きした方が楽、脳科学的にも手書きの方が記憶が定着しやすい、読みたい箇所をパラパラめくればすぐ読める、電池切れの心配もない、おそらく内容がアプリ版よりも豊富、等）を考え、こちらを購入しました。 中身を知りたい方は、無料なのでアプリをやってみるといいと思います。 それから、同シリーズでいくつか種類がありますが、こちらはアメリカ英語版の初級者用です。 他には、イギリス英語版もあり、それぞれに初級者用と中級者用があります。 またさらに、こちらのシリーズは英語学校等で使用される目的で作られている為（もちろん独学にも適してます）先生用とか生徒用とか種類があり、テキスト内の問題に対する解答が付属していないものとか、CD-ROMが付属しないものとか、色々なバージョンが存在するようです。 今レビューしているものは独学に最も適している、解答付きでCD-ROM付きですので、これを買えば問題ないです。 冒頭の説明文によると、この本の中の各ユニットはそれぞれ独立していて、どの順番からやっても理解できるようになっているので、好きな順番で学習して良いそうです。 ちなみにユニット１は「I am」とか「She isn't」とかの違い（いわゆるbe動詞）という、本当に基礎の基礎のレベルですが、出てくる単語の意味の解説は全くないので、簡単な英単語は知っている人向けの「文法書」になります。 日本の学校教育で教える文法や用法は、呆れるくらい「何じゃそりゃ？」なものが多いと、大人になって色々な書籍を読んで勉強して始めて知ったことが沢山あります。「will」と「be going to～」の違い、「電車に乗る」と「電車に乗っている」や「服を着る」と「服を着ている」とでは使う単語が違う（表現方法が違う）なんてことも、学校では教えてくれなかった。（ちなみにこれは違う本で知ったので、この本に載ってるかは分りません。） 前にテレビで「戦後にＧＨＱが日本を建て直す際に、日本人の勤勉さと能力の高さを恐れ、わざと英語力を付けさせないような誤った英語教育法を徹底させた」ということをやっていて、くだらない都市伝説かと思っていたが、英語を勉強するにつれて、どうもその伝説は本当だとしか考えられなくなりました。まあ単なる推測だとしても、そう思われて仕方ない程、日本の学校での英語教育はひどすぎる。 全てが無駄なわけではないですが、基礎がガタガタなので使い物にならないのは、ほとんどの日本人が実感してるはず。 なので「難しい英文は読めるけど、簡単な日常会話ができない人」は、もう一度この初級レベルから基礎を固めるべきだと思います。

楽しく勉強できると思って購入しました。こちらの努力不足で眠っています…老後の時間つぶしにでも使えるかもしれません。

The revised and Americanized versions of this series have proved useful to my language learning friends. Each section introduces enough material to be meaty, but is short enough to be digestible. The layout and design are inviting and not distracting. The content is quite extensive. Thank you again.

特に問題なく使用できてます。

こちらは英語の講師をしてくれている大学生から勧めてもらった、文法のやり直しをするための本です。すべて英語で説明されていますが、簡単な英語で説明してくれるので理解できます。その上で問題を解いていくと、「なるほど、ネイティブの考え方はこうなんだ〜」などと理解できて楽しんで学習しています♪

I am not the best speaker because I don't have enough practise in the daily life. I'm (52 years old) forgetting the rules because of not using it. For me it is the best English grammar book I ever had. It is totally thoughtful. You can test yourself in the back of this book and it depends from the results which lessons are recommended. Really great for self- learners.

Cest un très bon manuel avec corrigés . Complet. Très pratique pour les débutant pour apprendre comme pour confirmés pour des révisions

Kargo kutusu iyi durumda olsa bile Kitabın kondisyon çok kötü durumda. Kötü kondisyonda yeni kitap parası vermek çok kötü bir durum. O yüzden iyi bir şey yazmayacağım. Yurtdışından geldiğinden dolayı kitap değişimi vermiyor. İade etmek istemiyorum. Iyi bir hizmet aldığımı düşünmüyorum.

ESL students can get easily bored with the explanations found in most of the ESL grammar books available in the market; however, with Basic Grammar in Use and the other books in the series any ESL student who's really committed to learning English will never get bored. I have been studying English at different schools in Brazil, the UK and the US, and on my own as well, for more than 25 years, and I have gone through many different books. My first language is Brazilian-Portuguese and I used to find it very hard to master grammar aspects such as the Present Perfect ( and other Perfect aspects ). Then one day I found a copy of English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy at a public library in my hometown and for the very first time I understood the Present Perfect aspect. Later I became an ESL teacher myself and I found out more about other books by Raymond Murphy and I made it a point to adopt copies of Basic Grammar in Use to all of the beginning students I teach. Thanks a lot to Raymond Murphy and Cambridge for such a wonderful tool for students and teachers as well.
