Comprehensive and clean
I genuinely love just how clean the portrait & back are, as well as the fact that the book isn't written one, which makes it perfect for me to copy the pages and practice these without damaging the book itself! I adore the comprehensiveness, even if its just syllables, its a great first step to get acquaintanced to the Korean alphabet & learning how to write and recognize the characters.

Great for learning the Korean alphabet
Great for anyone just beginning to learn the Korean alphabet. It's definitely geared toward children but works for anyone. The letters are big and there are games with pictures of animals that you can color.

A useful tool if you've already started - no guidance for asbolute beginner
As others have noted, there is absolutely no editorial guidance on how to approach this book. If you've already started learning Korean, or have the drive to create a lesson plan for yourself, it's a good tool. However, if you're looking for guidance none is found inside this book and you might be better served coming back to this after using a different teaching method first.

Helpful and good quality!
My daughter and I are tackling Korean. We watch A LOT of K-dramas (not trashy like Hollywood) and were picking up expressions so we decided to get a tool that would aid our progress. This is helpful and there is a laminated common expressions chart we find helpful as well.

Love it! Just missing something
I love this book, and learned a bit of Hangeul before getting this so it was a great refresher and helpful with memorizing what vowels sounded like, as that’s where I personally struggle the most. However I wish they would have had more practice on complex vowels like they did the basic vowels. Other than that, I believe this book is a great resource and very beginner friendly! Couldn’t recommend it enough:)

Excellent for Beginners
I have purchased 7 books/workbooks to learn Hangul. As a self-study guide/workbook, this is by far at the top of the list. It’s a stand-alone guide (you don’t need to go online to a designated website or YouTube to use it effectively) that touches not only on writing the alphabet, but also on pronunciation and simple vocabulary words. Each character is contained in a section divided into 1) correct proper formation of the character (in some cases 2 different ways to write it); 2) an introduction to a set of four vocabulary words with Hangul character spellings, pronunciation guide, and a picture of the object; 3) a test to determine whether you’ve learned the letter formation and spelling of the corresponding object; and 4) a word to picture match up. Each letter is treated this way, so that you can spend as much time as you need to familiarize yourself with it and learn how it’s used in vocabulary. There also are additional pages included to practice writing the characters and learn the alphabetical order and names of vowels and consonants, etc. This workbook alone would have sufficed to learn the Hangul alphabet. I highly recommend it and have purchased Volume 2.
