I bought this item as I have recently bought a Dji action 5 pro. As good as the action camera is, i found i was left dissapointed at the lack of focus for closer up shots. I understand that the camera isnt made for closer up shots but, after buying this lens the difference is astronomical. The quality of the closer up shots now as opposed to the lens that comes with the action 5 pro is worlds apart. It fantastically packed, comes in a robust plastic tub with foam support to keep the lens in place when not in use. Extra bonus is that it comes with a lens wiping cloth too. A bit pricey but, thats the lens world for you.

This macro lens is a nice add-on if you want to get really close-up shots with your DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro or Action 4. It gives you 2x magnification, so you can capture small details like plants, insects, or textures that a normal lens can’t focus on. The image quality is sharp, thanks to the coated glass, and it doesn’t pick up much glare or smudges. The frame feels solid but lightweight, and it’s easy to attach by simply screwing it in place of the original lens. One thing to note—it’s not waterproof, so you can’t use it for underwater shots. But for close-up photography on land, it does the job really well.

This macro lens arrived nicely packaged in its own plastic storage box inside a branded cardboard box that also includes a lens cleaning cloth. I have several bits of kit by Neewer and I’m always impressed by the quality they deliver for the price. The lens is fitted by simply unscrewing the original lens cover and screwing the macro lens onto the camera. The lens isn’t waterproof so can’t be used underwater or in wet conditions. I stopped taking my DSLR on hikes because of the weight and I realised I was only using it for snapshots anyway, so now I just stick my action camera in my rucksack. Having this lens means that if I want to photograph flowers, insects etc. I can just use my action camera. You do need a steady hand as there is very little depth of field and there is some distortion and aberration at the edges as you would expect with this type of lens. I took a couple of pictures of the edge of some stone place mats with the camera in the same position with the original lens and this lens to give some idea of the difference. This is a good little lens that fits easily onto the camera and gives good results. It’s well made and at £41.99 it’s reasonably priced so it gets 5 stars.

Not that great, it’s got such a fish eye lens that everything around the central point starts to distort. Definitely not worth the money

This product is currently priced at £42.99, which I definitely believe is value. This macro lens for the Osmo Action Cam 5 Pro is really easy to fit in; you just unscrew the default lens and screw this in - that is how easy it is. The product is very high quality and is a very nice artistic choice—it's very nice to get close-up photos. The one downside is that this product isn't for underwater photography, as it's not weather sealed, as I believe this would be very nice for that purpose, but the product is very good nonetheless
