Warning - Housing does not contain protective lens coating
On a lamp for a DLP projector, there is a special coating that is applied to the lens. That coating blocks harmful ultraviolet and Infrared light from entering the optic path of your projector. The lens in this housing does not have that protective coating. As a result, on an Optoma projector (at least), the unit will start flickering after about 30 seconds and then shut down with a lamp error. After much frustration (2 bulbs ordered on Amazon), I read about this common problem and replaced the clear housing lens with the lens from my old housing and it now works. However, the protective coating breaks down over time. So, using my old housing lens will probably cause the lamp to have a shorter life. I would avoid this product !

Do not order!!
Horrible!! Started to develop a black spot during first movie after installed. Then started to smell like smoke. Turned it off as I am scared it will catch on fire. I’m so upset about this purchase!!

Do not buy--this lamp is defective
When I replace the lamp it would just flash. It is defective!

Wouldn't recommend
Purchased this bulb as a replacement, it worked well for about 3 months. We have not been able to use our projector because you can not see anything now. Will be purchasing a different bulb... you get what you pay for... will be spending the money this time around.

It didn't work
I bought this lamp last September (2019), but I only tried to instal this month (April, 2020) and it didn't work out.I installed the lamp without any problems, it turned on, but it doesn't stay on, it goes off. I had to buy another lamp, from another supplier. I would like to return this product and get my money back.
