Device keeps looping trying to connect then the device will disappear from the device manager like it's physically not plugged in. Thought it was an issue with the 5ghz connection as originally it only seemed to happen when trying to comment to 5ghz but now 2.5ghz is doing the same. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, I've even gone out and install separate drives directly from realtek, still same issue. I've also tried in both USB 2 and USB 3 connection slots, it worked in USB 3 temporarily but then the same issue started reoccurring. I even reinstalled my operating system thinking maybe it was something with my OS. Not sure if I just got a faulty product and this is an exception but based on my experience I would not buy this brand again or suggest any one else do so. It did help on boosting my network as I can tell from the device I have used for more than 5 years. Mine is a fair gaming desktop with no WI-FI antenna port and it works perfectly fine boosting 10Mb/s up on my peak download rate on steam.

(Edit can confirm the AC-1300 variant is driverless, the AC-1800 is not driverless) Instead of operating as a plain WiFi adapter, this device acts as USB storage when plugged in, with an auto-run driver installer. Guess what? The driver installer .exe file isn't even digitally signed. Anyone could have infected it with anything. At the time of writing this review the Realtek website also hasn't published any drivers for the RTL8832BU chip it uses, so you're SOL if you want to install drivers with trusted code, and Windows 10 doesn't include a driver for it out of the box. All in all a terrible design and a big supply-chain malware risk. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Got the AX1800 and doesn't work at all on Windows 7. I downloaded their dropbox drivers, installed successfully, but still windows didn't detect the device no matter what I did. On their website, they don't even list this "AX1800" and instead seem to present it as AX1300. I then realized that this 1800mbps claim is completely deceptive. It's actually 1200mbps for 5Ghz connections and about 570mbps for 2.4Ghz connections. This "1800" is really just the sum of these two types of connections which isn't actually what you will get. This looks like a deceptive product that they don't even list on their own site. Returning!
