It serves its purpose
I use a ball lock for carbonating water (homemade soda stream). As a result, the ball locks I use see are connected and disconnected on a regular basis. The very first Ball Lock I purchased failed in about 12 months (bearing popped out which allowed CO2 to escape). I purchased this as a replacement. It's getting the job done right now. I suspect Ball Locks in general have a duty cycle, a number of times they are intended to be connected and disconnected. It would be helpful if this type of information was made available. I also assume that most manufactures design these beer keg connections or soda carbonation where the connections are not changed as frequently. It could be that if you are going to use this as part of a home carbonation system, no model will last that long. I will say the plastic on this model seems to be harder than my previous version, so I'm hopeful it will last longer. But as with all things, only time will tell.

Bummed it broke so soon
Air valve malfunctioned and broke. It worked for about a dozen connecting and disconnects, then just started hissing gas.

But the CMB disconnects are better made and can be found elsewhere for less money
These disconnects do work. These are not the CMB disconnects you're used to from major sellers or your local brew shop. They carry a logo with an "S" inside a toothed gear. They seem to be a slightly different more brittle plastic and there is some flash from the forming process. The first few times around I had to apply them with a mallet. They get the job done and I don't expect them to fail. But the CMB disconnects are better made and can be found elsewhere for less money.

Leaked and cost an entire 20lb CO2 tank!
Leaked and cost an entire 20lb CO2 tank! DO NOT BUY!!!Despite the mixed reviews, I purchased one of these ball lock quick disconnects to expand my CO2 manifold for my kegerator, along with a fresh new 20lb CO2 tank. Installation and everything went fine, spray test gave showed no leaks, set the regulator to 12 psi and went to bed. A couple days later I try to pour a beer and barely a trickle comes out. I swapped the regulator to my backup 5lb tank and did another spray test, only to find that this disconnect was leaking BADLY from space between the body and the plastic piece that moves up and down. Even before the spray test I could hear the hissing. Absolutely would not recommend buying one of these unless you have an unlimited supply of CO2 tanks.
