Dash Cam Hardwire Kit With Right Angle Mini Usb Pefect For Car DVR Camera Recorder (Right Angle Mini USB)

I recently bought this along with a toguard ce30 dashcam, didn’t fancy having trailing wires everywhere - I was a little overwhelmed when I opened the packet to see so many connections but soon realised the kit had you covered for just about any fuse connection the earth lead already has a connection on it and the positive has also been neatly stripped ready to take the fuse connection. Looks to be very good quality and certainly made the camera installation a lot neater with the added bonus of not having to remember to plug it in!!

Arrived on time (and would use again - I have changed my mind, read below). Purchased to use on my dash cam and works a treat.Update 12 December 2018. I left my dash cam running on my Toyota Yaris Hybrid and after a couple of days not using the car the car battery was totally flat and I had to call out Green Flag, who go the car started. So don't believe what you read when this product states "The Product Protects Against The Battery Dying", no it doesn't!Update 3 January 2019. I left my dash cam on by mistake again and again I have a flat battery. Green Flag woudn't come out as I hadn't taken the car to the main dealership to have the electric's checked out. I didn't because I Knew what the fault was, this product. I have now rewired the dash cam so it is powered from the cigarette lighter supply which only comes on when I start the car, but I really wanted the dash cam to work when the car was parked, I'm not trying other makes, as they all look the same!

Ideally need a crimping tool for this. Also the connections are poor as my dashcam powers on and off intermittently, have purchased a different wire and have had no problems with that one so problem lies with this cable. Could do with being a foot longer also. Would not recommend.

Length of cable from mini USB to the electronic box is too short. This means I've somehow got to hid it behind windscreen pillar. I was hoping to run cable from dash cam on drivers side, across the windscreen to passenger side, down the pillar and into fuse box under the dash. Not going to be able to do that. Might have to take it straight down drivers side pillar and then find a route under steering wheel across to other side of car to the fuse box. Not sure if it will work yet.

Needed new connections.This item does the job now that I have replaced the connectors, I used a multi-meter to test the connections and they were subjective to the angle of the wire to the connector.Though having replaced those the item works and does the job intended, cable lengths were suitable for my Citroen DS3 13 plate to run from the fuse box to the camera located behind the rear view.That’s not to say all kits would be the same but I would strongly suggest to test all connectors regardless due to the unknown of shipping, the item came with a 10A fuse which is far oversized so I’d suggest checking that and I installed a smaller cartridge fuse (the type you find in your UK plug socket) into the line fuse as there happened to be no rating on the clear one inside.FYI 3A fuses are most probably over the top but that’s what I had to hand and what I’d suggest downgrading the supplied fuses to, just to protect your camera.

Easy to install but had to return it as it didn't seem to work too well with the start/stop on my car (Seat Ateca).. Piggy backed off the 12v fuse but whenever the start stop would restart the engine the dashcam I had would restart. No issues when connecting directly to the 12v with the supplied cable. Support was good and no issues in getting a full refund

Appears to do what you would require of it, until!I went to install this today, I knew I was going to shorten the input cables so tested the unit before cutting.It powered up my dash cam and it all ran fine, so I shorted both positive and negative cables.After install I connected everything up with new online fuse and plugged in my dash cam.The unit powered up then told me it was unplugged, after trouble shooting everything I manged to get a voltage reading of the USB end. It was fluctuationing terribly.So whilst voltage was there to power the unit it was not stable enough to charge it.This product is quite simply not for for purpose.

Dashcam keeps turning on and off, with low battery warning. It's not the dashcam but this wiring, I have struggled to find the fault then realised (see pic) the the fuses don't fit in the spur that was sent with the pack, its faulty and damaged!!UPDATE- So it turns out it isn't just the fuses that dont fit but a whole bad circuit. Ordered another from another supplier with better reviews and it now works with no issues. Refund started
