Milwaukee Electric Tools 2997-22 Hammer Drill/Impact Driver Kit

I purchased this kit because I have some Ridgid tools that I was not happy with. They seemed to be good tools, but the battery life was short. Even though I have lifetime warranty with them, I got tired of going through the routine of taking the tool (now) to Home Depot, sending it in, waiting for evaluation. and going back to the store to pick it up. Milwaukee has a better reputation than Ridgid and DeWalt and Ryobi. They're better tools. The only complaints I have are the length of the warranty on the tools and batteries, and the other kits they offer. All their other kits offer the same impact driver and the 1/2" hammer drill in the kits with other tools. If I want 2 other kits because of the other tools, I will wind up with 3 impact drivers and 3 1/2 " hammer drills. I wish they'd put together some other kits. The drill and impact driver I bought are quite powerful, although the "forward/off/reverse" switch location is bad, it's too easy to accidentally hit it and turn off or reverse the driver.

I use this kit daily at my job and it has been fantastic. Battery life is great, and both the drill and impact have a great amount of power. I use the drill mostly drilling out broken fasteners and it has never let me down. The impact gets used for nuts, bolts, self tappers, etc. Very rarely do I find a fastener it cannot break free, within reason. I also love that I can charge my 12v batteries without having to use two chargers. Overall a huge win.

I'm really impressed with the driver and drill. The driver makes quick work of long screws and dense wood: wall studs, dock posts, etc. We've also used the drill to raise an F-150 on a scissor jack, and the driver to loosen frozen bolts on the truck. The driver's short body meant I could squeeze into a tight space on a new bathroom vanity to drive a screw that my older driver would've been too big for.

Excellent like everything Milwaukee does

I’ve been using Milwaukee M18 fuel tools at my job for a while now. I decided to upgrade my tools at home. First the drill, it is tough! My last cordless drill struggled with hole saw bits. This Milwaukee drill is very tough and had lots of power to cut the hole I needed. I haven’t used the hammer drill function yet but I’m sure it’s not quite as good as an actual hammer drill. The impact is also very strong. I like how I can select the speed/torque of the impact just like the drill. The medium speed worked good for all of my screws. I also used the 4th setting which is for sheet metal screws. The impact knows when the screw is fully seated so there is no issue with trying to drive the screw in further. I would definitely recommend for any professional or DIYer. Amazon beat out everyone else’s price at the time I purchased this.

as advertised... the tools are a bit heavy with the big batteries attached. Not a problem for the drill, but I will probably use a smaller batter on the impact/screw gun and save the 5.0 batteries for the drill. The reason I bought this set is I have a Large Dewalt set that includes the big drill/hammer drill, and the drill is very heavy and a little much for smaller jobs. I think this drill being a little smaller and lighter will be more handy for smaller jobs.

Perfect. Exactly what I was after. Long time Milwaukee tools user. Package was left on my doorstep as the carrying case with Milwaukee-Labeled Cardboard around about 2/3 of the carrying case. Very obvious what it was for porch pirates. Thank goodness I was home to bring it in immediately. Would strongly recommend adding special instruction for delivery or “delivery in unmarked box” option.

Did a lot of research on my own (not knowing anything about tools) and finally decided on this drill set. Bought as a gift for my bf and he was blown away. He wanted a drill set for some time and confessed that he actually had this brand in mind. But he was very impressed with this set. Loves the hard case and the started going off in “man speak” about the features. I’m so happy.

Sturdy and practical, but it gets hot

Happy with the purchase

Estoy muy satisfecho con el desempeño de estas herramientas, para uso en el hogar cubrirá todas las necesidades y la mayoría de tareas en uso automotriz. La potencia en general esta sobrada para los usos del hogar pero es mejor tener mayor poder disponsible para un desempeño mayor en caso de necesitarlo. Las baterías pueden resultar algo pesadas después de trabajar más de 10 15 minutos continuos pero la comodidad de estar sin cables lo vale. Recomiento totalmente este kit de herramientas.

The combo work perfectly. If I have any complaint it would be that the case doesn't have space for a third battery. For my purposes I would have preferred the handle eliminated and that space used for storage for another battery even if it's not included in the kit.
