had this backpack for a few months, but it only sat in the corner. took it to the gym THREE times, everything was fine. noticed the zipper wasn't working because there was a string in the teeth, so i removed the string. low and behold the loose string was the single thread holding the zipper on. looks really nice, until it fell apart.

The Mardingtop Tactical Backpack will comfortably carry a medium load. It is designed well, with a large main compartment, a small second compartment (both of which run about 20" from top to bottom of the pack), and a front half-pack flap compartment.The main compartment has a sleeve for a hydration bladder and a port for the drink tube. The second compartment has a mesh sleeve with zipper access. The flap pocket has small organizing slots and a key swivel. The shoulder straps are ergonomic and comfortably handle a medium load. The zippers are heavy duty, the buckles appear to be fastex buckles, and the 600 cordura nylon is treated on the inside to repel water. The only drawback on the pack is its lack of drain holes on the bottom, thus the 4 star rating.

I'm very very disappointed in the MOLLE points they're very very weak and not the best for MOLLE attachments. If using as a school back pack or for traveling then it's worth it other wise it's not. Seeing it's made in China I think I'm going to send it back and spend a lot more on something Amarican made.

I initially bought this because I wanted something durable with max size for a carry on. This has been great and had no problem going through TSA. I held enough clothes and gear to get me through a 4 day weekend in Chicago while I was bouncing between staying with friends and a hotel. My only compliant was it would be nice to have an additional zipper on the outer pocket. The middle and main both have two and an additional one on the smaller one would have prevented some small items from falling out.

Very strong, has taken a beating and still looks good. The side pouches hold a water bottle of smart water very well. It has a very thin compartment in the largest section that may be for a water bladder but nicely holds a folding camp seat to give your back some added cushion. It is mat black and hard to see in the dark. Buy a reflective patch for its velcro spot so you can more easily locate it. It is larger than i expected but thats good. It holds a lot of stuff and the smallest compartment has a little hook for your car keys which came in VERY handy. It has handled long hikes and camping like a champ and is quite comfortable to wear. My moraknife fell right onto it and did not cut the surface. I would only recommend spraying it down with a waterseal because it is not totally waterproof but does hold up against rain for a while.

I looked everywhere for a good backpack. I first looked at REI, but paying $100-300 for a backpack sounded stupid to me. So I took a risk and bought this one. Highly recommend it. I am in law enforcement and it can hold all my gear with ease and has a ton of attachment points for whatever I want. The straps are my favorite as I can clip across the top and it has a padded belly clip too. Running or climbing in this is a breeze too. Can’t go wrong!!!

I bought this backpack for a trip to Switzerland for using as a day hiking bag. Also used it to travel around and carry a couple laptops. The main compartment is very spacious, was able to fit several jackets and food inside. This bag is very nicely designed, the quality is top and the zippers are not only smooth but well positioned opening enough for easy access. I really enjoyed the side pockets that were large enough to fit a good size water bottle being accessible without having to remove the backpack. The other side bag I used for snacks. Inside you have plenty of space and dividers to accomodate and organize lots of things. It was comfortable to carry for many hours and for my use more than sturdy enough. The only two things I would like to see are a greater color selection and having a velcro to secure the waist straps when not used. I looked into the 5.11 but the price was quite higher with less space. Other backpacks were either smaller or didn't have side pockets or quality did not seem good. This is a great bang for the buck with a perfect size.

I purchased this as a Christmas (2016) gift for my teenage son. We're a military family and he plans to follow suit, so this "bookbag" was exactly what he wanted. It has a separate sleeve for his laptop, zippered side compartments, a smaller front zippered compartment, comfortable straps, and a velco strip for patches. He's been using it and abusing it for a year now and it still looks great and has held up perfect. I see others have had unfortunate experiences with their packs, and it looks like there is a quality control issue. But our experience has been great and we're considering purchasing again for another relative. The attached photo was just taken, so this is what it looks like after 1 year of use.

The bag is great and not bulky

The color is more of a brownish gold than khaki. I wouldn't expect this to go well with any issued uniform.

This bag is built extremely well! I love every aspect of it! Especially the pockets within pockets!

Ordered in March 2018.. zippers already broke with light load! There's nothing tactical about this bag, save your money and get a nice aturdy hiking bag for tactical use.

I am using this for rucking.. and woodcraft. While a bit large for the GoRuck stuff.. it defintely fits the bill for woodcraft. Materials are fine..

The backpack worked exactly as I had hoped. I've had it for over a year and haven't had a single issue with it.
