I fell in love all over again with this yoga mat when I discovered it's reversible! I really enjoy the natural earthy feel of the textured side but flipping to the non-slip backing was a blessing last night when I felt far too lazy to hug in against the sliding effect that comes with breaking in a new mat. The label is attached in a way that it wraps around to be displayed on both sides.This mat is surprisingly light. It has good padding for your knees and it's thin enough to still feel grounded in standing poses. I often walk to yoga so having a light mat is important and the carry strap it comes with is a nice bonus.The main thing I wanted in a yoga mat was to be free from chemicals, especially since reading the book Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life by Dr Clauda Welch. In it she says ‘If it smells toxic, it probably is’ This was a red flag for me as every time I’d lay facedown on my old PVC mat I’d smell the fumes (even after over a year of use). There is no smell at all from the Ajna yoga mat. I can now rest easy and breathe in deep in childs pose :) This is a beautifully crafted mat that is truly enjoyable to practice on.

I really wanted to love this item but it is not grippy or sticky at all. I have hyperhidrosis and sweat a lot. I tried very hard to buy a yoga mat that was appropriate for hot yoga (I figure you sweat in that type of class even more than I naturally sweat) and knew that anything rubber/plastic (i.e., a traditional mat) would not be any better than the cheap $10 one I currently have. I researched for hours upon hours spread out over the past few months and decided to get this mat. I thought from the description and reviews that it would be perfect. BUT...I also thought that the WHOLE TOP LAYER was made of jute. That is NOT the case!! The darker color is not a darker jute color, but is rubber, which makes the mat incredibly slippery. I could not even get through one yoga session. I gave it an extra star because it IS very comfortable, as other reviewers have said. Unfortunately I'll be returning this mat ASAP.

This yoga mat is the most beautiful I've owned yet. The texture keeps my hands and feet from slipping, and the cushioning is easier on my joints than my previous favorite mat. The carrying strap is brilliant, making it quick and easy to roll this up and jet out of class. The added bonus is the manufacturer really cares and believes in their product and stands behind it.The packaging was really nice and came with an information booklet, making this a really nice potential gift.Love it and I like showing it off too!

I got this thinking it was a beautiful eco friendly option. Then I did research on PER, and it seems to be processed PVC, that can biodegrade, however, biodegradable plastics are also under the same category of plastics that break down into extremely small particles that aren't organic, but in fact small pieces of plastic.... Creating plastic that's impossible to clean up, polluting the soil and water. I e-mailed the company asking about this but haven't gotten a response. I'll definitely be getting my money back on this one unless I figure out what my research shows is wrong. I'll probably look for an ethically harvested natural rubber mat only, after the research I've done.

WOW!! What can I say, some of the best customer service I've had in a REALLY long time! My original mat arrived defective and when I sent it back the company reached out to me to ask about my return. Long story short, I now not only have the mat, which is amazing and comfortable, but also the acupressure mat!! The company was amazing, even responding on a Sun!! The acupressure mat is not something I would have ordered, so I'm excited they sent me one and can't wait to feel it's benefits! YAY for not only a good product but OUTSTANDING customer service!

This mat has good cushioning and so far I've not noticed any wear of the cushioning on the spots where I normally put my weight. I also like the more natural feel of the jute blend on my feet vs a traditional rubber mat. My one slight complaint is I wish the mat did not shed. It does not shed a lot, but I normally find a few bits of jute and whatever it's blended with on my skin and clothes after a workout. If I'm not able to shower or change straightaway, I use a sticky lint roller.

I really enjoyed this mat, until I started getting into the sweaty stuff. My yoga teacher reccommended a rubber mat to me. Since I've gotten my new mat, my practice has changed completely. I would say if you're using this for meditation or restorative yoga this mat is great, but if you sweat a lot think about getting a rubber mat!!!

This is the second mat we've purchased from Ajna Wellbeing. My wife loves hers and has been using the handy carrying strap to take carry it with her on business trips. I was using a cheaper foam mat that was soft but slid around a lot and seemed to compress too much. This mat stays exactly where I put it, doesn't scoot when I move around on it, and provides just the right amount of padding to keep me comfortable. I've had some wrist pain since I started doing Yoga, and I think it was partially related to the mat shifting and compressing. I've noticed an improvement since I changed to the Ajna mat. It rolls and unrolls easily, and stores well. It's a great product, and I like the fact that I've received follow up emails from the seller to make sure I was happy with the product. I'd definitely recommend the mat and Ajna Wellbeing to others.

Slippery can not do down ward dog. Waste.

Only use the mat twice when holes appeared. The quality is not as good as described. Disappointed!
