Rosa Rugosa

OK But Nothing Special
This book was a disappointment to me because for one, it did not list the plant zone for the roses discussed. Some did not have the photos. It was all right, but not a book I would purchase again. Not thorough enough and on the internet I would have obtained more in depth information with all photos of roses mentioned.

Good book about rugosa roses.
This book is a fast read, and I mostly used it to find the roses I wanted to use for a privacy hedge. It gave me everything I expected, and needed. I knew nothing about rugosas before, and now I almost feel like an expert.

Not just a field guide.
Glad I got this book. It contain information of breeders, parents of varieties, and morphology, enough for me to make decision to buy and breed Rugosa.

Beautiful and complete
A very thorough review of rugosa roses that gave me an appreciation of how sturdiness is not their only quality. They are also beautiful, scented and practical. The photography is very beautiful.

An old must-have book
The first publish of this book was in 1991, and now (december 2012) it was a pleasure for me to read this time-less book. Susanne Verrier writes with passion and enthousiasm about this Roses. "Grow rugosa's and you will enjoy fragrant flowers, not once, but throughout the season". I agree with that. The pictures in this book are very nice too. In my opinion there could be more (almost every page has a beautiful one, but not all the listed Roses have a picture), but it is a book from 1991. For me this book is a must-have. In this book the new ones like Rugelda are listed too. I hope there will be a new Rose-book written in the future to continue this new story and give the older ones a picture too.

Rose Rugosa revue
I was a little disappointed that there were not very many photos of Rose descriptions. Her second book was far better.

rosa rugosa
