Not bad
Korean with English subtitles.“The Mimic” had good production values, as I’ve come to expect from Korean films. Interesting story line though it seemed to jump around at times, or maybe I couldn’t keep up. It is harder to keep up when you’re reading a movie. There were some things that didn’t seem to fit or were illogical – specifically the beginning of the movie which, so far as I could tell, had very little to do with the main story. The acting was pretty good. I thought the little creepy girl was, at times, especially creepy, so kudos to her. The other actors did okay, but the bad guy was overdone. The movie was creepy and weird and sad with an unhappy ending. The very end was strange, and I don’t know how to interpret it. I won’t give anything away. You’ll have to check it for yourself. If you like spooky, creepy, moderately scary movies and you don’t mind reading the dialog, you might like this.

There are English subs, just have to turn them on!
Really enjoyed this. Right away in the first two minutes of the movie things are going on which is something I absolutely love. While I did not find this movie scary, as no horror movie actually frightens me, I really enjoyed it. Basically, a mother who lost her son moves her family to the town her mother in law was born to try to help her with her dementia in hopes she has the key to finding her child. After her husband finds a dead body in the woods she takes in a little girl who shares the same name as her daughter. The premise and concept drew me in and while I wasn't a fan of the ending, I was still captured through the entire thing. If you like Asian horror films I would certainly give this a try!

It started out good and interesting, and then the rest of the movie happened.
The initial setup was really good, engaging, and got me interested and thinking it was going to be pretty good. Alas, it was not to be. There were a few good sequences, but the main plot and protagonist were dull. I mean dull, duller, dullest. This movie had the "Hereditary" problem. It was a family melodrama disguised as a horror movie. It's just this one wound up being more boring and far less funny than "Hereditary". "The Mimic" rates a star better than "Hereditary", though because the movie wasn't irretrievably stupid. It's just generally dull. -- 3/10. Not recommended.

Great movie, and YES there are English subtitles.
Great movie. I was totally drawn into a few of the actors especially the two young girls because they were so good at acting. Story was drawn out a bit some parts, but it didn't bother me that much. Not necessarily Ju-On or Ringu level scary, but it was still a good watch.I saw a few reviews that said there weren't any subtitles. Either those people are new to Prime Video, or they're a little confused and don't know where to navigate to get it. If you want subtitles you have to turn it on manually. Depending on what device you're watching on, you either have to click on the video when its playing or move your cursor around and click on the message box next to the Settings that says "Subtitles and Audio" and there you'll find the English subtitles.

Semi-bad movie *a bit of a spoiler*
Well, I wasted $3.99 renting this movie. There were holes in the storyline and the ending was predictable and terrible. I was hoping for a better ending/a solution to the problem, but nope. Don't waste your time and money.

My Second Korean Movie <3
This movie did a lot of things right despite English being by only language. Good acting, story, and decent scares. The only major issue I had was the one made on the stairway at the end of the movie. I sat there begging the character not to make that most expected of mistakes. It's really more of my dislike for cliches than an actual problem with the movie. The final mistake is telegraphed throughout the movie so in context it does make sense however I would have been more surprised and equally heartbroken had the character decided to leave.
