Boston Warehouse Ice Cream Spade, Whale Design

This is perfect for the person who likes to eat their ice cream from a bowl. Not so good for one who prefers the cone. But this scoop cuts thru hard ice cream as good as one can and you can apply a lot of pressure to do so without fear of breaking. The silicon grip aids in comfort. I have had more scoops than I care to admit. But after owning one of these for several years I decided it was time to add another to my collection, but only because I needed a clean one in the drawer if the other was dirty. While the design is fun, this scoop delivers on the function.

I bought this for the novelty. My husband really likes the Boston Warehouse line of animal kitchen gadgets (I guess he's a fan of functional animals?), so this was a gift. We're really happy with it so far. I can't speak to the people who say it flakes off in their ice cream and whatnot, but as far as we can tell, it seems to be really well-made & solid. Plus it really cuts through the ice cream. I didn't expect it to work so well at all.

This is the best ice cream scoop I have ever used. I like it so much that I ordered three more for my grown children. The scoop looks awesome, feels good in your hand, and cuts through "normal hardened" ice cream with ease. "Normal hardened" means not hard as a brick, but not so soft that you think your freezer is not working properly. It's fun eating ice cream any time and now it's fun scooping it too!

Our household has gone through at least 4 different ice cream scoops until we came upon this spade. It works; therefore, our daughter, son, brothers, and friends have surprisingly enjoyed this scoop.Too bad that Wilton has discontinued it. We found ours at a Bed, Bath, & Beyond about 4 years ago. This year for Christmas gifts we could not find it anywhere except on-line and accidently at a kitchen specialty shop in Oklahoma City. This scoop/spade is absolutely perfect.

It's adorable and super functional. The shape is actually really good for scooping and it's comfortable to use. But it's starting to bubble (corrode) on the scoop end despite the fact that we've only ever hand-washed the item, never left it soaking in corrosive solution, never used other metal utensils on it, etc. We've had it about a year. I am disappointed in the unusually quick wear-and-tear. It does still seem to be sanitary and nothing is flaking off into our ice cream, but it's obviously not as pretty now.

This is hands-down the easiest to use scoop I've ever used. It just slices right into the ice-cream straight out of the freezer. I didn't even realize when I purchased I that it was a whale. The "cute" factor isn't all that noticeable. This works extremely well though. If you have arthritis or similar hand-force issues, this would be impressive.

The ice cream scoop is heavy, has all smooth edges (so is safe for little ones to use) and cuts through the hardest ice cream as easily as you could scoop yogurt with a spoon. There have been many times I wanted some ice cream, but didn't want to go to the hassle of scooping it. This is the primo scoop for any ice cream lover. I have been using it now for two months and couldn't be happier...fatter and happy, but still happy. The handle shape and balance are excellent for those with arthritis, too.

After buying one for myself, I've found myself purchasing extras to give to friends and family as gifts. Everybody loves it. The handle feels great in your hand, and the shape of the scoop is perfect for digging out even the most rock hard ice cream with relative ease. Just a great tool.
