Stunning debut.
First off, I've gotta say Niall's music has been a pleasant surprise. So far all 3 singles, This Town, Slow Hands and Too Much to Ask have all been brilliant songs! Especially Slow Hands. I got into 1D's music around about Story of My Life time and i'm so glad i did as i can now experience their solo ventures. I don't care that as a band they have a huge girl following. I'm a guy in my 20s and i appreciate a lot of different style music and artists. It is a shame in a way that a lot of their album tracks are such gems, but won't be heard as the more radio friendly songs were released to appeal to a certain market.Anyway back to Mr Horan! What a stunning debut. Similar to Harry he's not gone down the generic must appeal to the streaming craze. Instead he's gone for something a little more creative, more meaningful and artistic style music. His influences were The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and his own experiences. There's no in your face dance songs, but there's plenty of dance albums out there for that, past and present. This album is actually quite peaceful and uplifting. Seeing Blind (Feat Maren Morris) could do well in the US on the country charts, wonderful collaboration. The title song Flicker he really goes for it, vocally he's never sounded better and the deluxe bonus tracks are worthy of a listen.Don't be put of the teen girl craze of fans that 1D may mostly have. Now they are solo, go into their music with an open mind and that's coming from a huge Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush fan.

A Flicker Of Hope
I was hooked on Niall Horans solo music from the first time I heard This Town, then to follow it up with the quirky Slow Hands and the excellent Too Much To Ask I was hoping his album would be as fantastic as it is.There are plenty of earworms on here including On The Loose and The Tide which I really can't get out of my head.Hopefully this album will be given a well deserved chance by people instead of being written off by people because of his boy band past.

Pleasant surprise
I am not a 1D fan, but I really liked several of the singles I'd heard so decided to try the album. Have to say I was genuinely surprised how good it is. Loved it in fact. Classic singer / songwriter style we don't always get these days with so many manufactured artists.

New fan
I wasn’t a one direction fan, and haven’t really liked any other songs I’ve heard off the other ex band members, but I heard Too Much To Ask and This Town and took a risk and I’m so happy I did. Good album, a few songs I skip past but the majority I like.Favourite three tracks, On The Loose, Too Much To Ask and You and Me.

catchy and full of great tunes, this is an awesome debut solo album ...
Poignant, catchy and full of great tunes, this is an awesome debut solo album and I have had it playing almost constantly ever since I bought it. I should add that I am not a young fan but a 72-year-old former rock journalist, who took a chance on this after loving the single "This Town". I am hugely impressed. Mr Horan has set out his stall with great skill and sense of purpose that will ensure him a long-term solo career. Congratulations.
