【2022 New Version】CHORTAU Mirror Dash Cam 7 Inches Touch Screen Full HD 1080P, Wide Angle Front Camera and Waterproof Rear Camera, Car camera with Emergency Recording, Reverse Monitor System

I brought this dash cam/ reverse cam mirror about a week ago and I would highly recommend it for your car or van. The UN boxing experience was very pleasant. It was easy to open and everything was in separate little bags and own spaces. ( the UN boxing experience is very important to me in any product I buy. Once all opened I took out my existing dash cam out of my car. Installed the San-disk ultra micro SD 34gb class 10 micro SD card in to the slot on the mirror and went down to the car to install the mirror. First impressions are very clear to see out of when driving so was very impressed. There are straps provided to go round your existing mirror and very easy to install to your vehicle. Tucking the wires in around my car was easy with the wire handy tool provided in the kit and it was easily plugged in to the cigarette lighter power out put. You then plug the reverse camera in to the mirror and neatly tuck all wires away to the back of your car. Taking the back light out was easy on my vehicle to connect the reverse lamp with the red camera wire. A voltage tester and crimps are needed if you want to connect it up to the reverse lamp for the camera to automatically come on when reverse is selected. Once that is all set up mount the camera in place on the rear of the vehicle above the licence plate. I did mine on the back windscreen and test it. Mine works great and I love it. The sticky bar provided is rubbish as your camera will fall down so buy some stronger stuff. There are 2 screws provided and 5 sticky clips. The camera is great as well as the touch screen and quality of the product. 5 stars because so far, So good.

I got this and installed it myself on my BMW520d. It is easier to install than I thought. The touch screen is very responsive and cameras are pretty clear. There are settings for the camera where you can view both the front and back camera in different layouts, which is great. It works well alongside the car sensors as combination feedback when reversing the car. Overall, I think this is value for money and pretty good product.

I bought this mainly as a reverse camera, the other functionality (recording etc) is a bonus. The picture is good (not great) and is definitely good enough to use for reversing and any recording would show what happened clearly. The screen is excellent, good picture and the functions are very easy to use. I am not a particularly DIY person and managed to install it all myself. It took the best part of a day to pull the wiring through the parts of my van, and work out the best place to put the camera. The bracket was a bit annoying, as to have the camera the right way up and angled downwards, there was only really one option for mounting the camera - I had to attach to the plastic trim above my reg plate so it sticks out a bit from the side of the van (and prone to possibly being knocked off). If the bracket was a bit longer or could be mounted both top and bottom of the camera then it would give more options. I have asked for the longer wiring as my van is LWB and at the moment it doesn't fit around the edges so is going straight across to the screen, but I emailed customer service and they responded to me immediately and said they will send one out. All in all, really really good value for the price and I'm very pleased with it. I just wanted to explain some of the fiddly bits to help others.

It was ok as a dash camera while it worked. However a downside is that you can’t angle the camera very far to the right to get a good view of the on coming traffic. This was bearable but then all of a sudden the camera started turning on and off constantly for no reason and there was no way to stop it doing it. We had to leave in an outside cupboard until the battery ran out. Resetting the camera using the reset button didn’t help so it is useless as a dash cam. Will be sending back.

Power button stuck inside the device after the first few used rear camera quality is very poor would be much more useful 1080p back also - on the other hand I do believe it's good value - easy to set up and everything else as described Returning mine for a refund due to the power button failing and will try to find some better built and I paid £55 then the next day they dropped to £35.99 now its £44.99 so definetly be avoiding

I wanted to try a bit of a new scheme for my car - a rear view mirror replacement since it took up zero real estate on my window or dashboard and still gave me the camera quality I was expecting. Enter the Chortau mirror dash cam - it does exactly that. You get a high quality, somewhat suspect 'wide angle' camera - the ONLY gripe I have about this - that sits over your existing rearview mirror - gives you touch screen controls AND you don't LOSE anything either! No more chunky squares or circles on your mirror or centre concole! A few photos that I have taken show the mirror in place and the view you would typically get from the outside! I also have a video that goes into an in depth review and guide on what the camera does, how it works and at the end samples of the day and night time vision of the camera. No processing, just some talking and text blocks - otherwise unedited footage that is neither blown up, enhanced or colour stabilised. It does come with a reversing camera - however, I have not had the time to install this properly but it does work but it is a pretty bad quality camera. HOWEVER - it is not meant to be a rearview camera with high quality - it is literally there to guide you into a parking bay and that is it. I give it 5 stars because for what you get, for the price, you really cannot get any better - at least from what I could see and my wallet could spare.
