Your foot wasn't made flat, so why is almost all footwear made that way? Sole footbeds and sandals mold to perfectly fit your unique foot. Generic insoles and flat footwear simply cannot offer the same level of arch support, control and comfort of Sole products.

Was going to return, but didnt.
The bottom, is like walking on a perfect surface designed for your foot... The top... Ooooow! The strap that goes across the foot is very snug fit. If your feet are day or swollen they might be painful. I don't have day or swollen feet, well I don't think I do. I never have problems with shoes being too tight. I got these yesterday and they hurt the top of my foot. I kept wearing them because I had no foot pain on the bottom and I thought that the top would loosen up. I won't lie, it hurt. I got up this morning and put them back on and No No No No way! Pain! I want to wait a day or two to heal and then wet the strap and try again but that truck only works on leather and I can't tell if these are leather. I'll update later. Right now I'm wondering what to do next.Update. So I kept the shoes. I gave my foot two days to heal and then tried them again. They started to break in a bit. Then I waited another day and finally I can wear them pain free.I really wanted to give them the chance to break in because I was in so much pain in my heels and these felt so good on the bottom of my feet that I just needed to see if I could make them work. I'm glad I did. Big day of walking ahead and I'll be wearing these. :)

Sandals impossible due to ankle instability or high arches? SOLE sandals = Problem solved! :)
These sandals provide REAL SUPPORT. Unlike many other brands that claim to provide it, these actually deliver. The ARCH SUPPORT IS SUBSTANTIAL enough for someone with high arches to actually benefit from, and there is a METATARSAL ARCH support too. DEEP HEEL CUPS help with ankle instability. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. This particular version (sport) is almost as good as the cork version, which are the most comfortable shoes I own but not very dressy. I got these hoping they would have the same features as the cork SOLE flip flops, with a slightly more feminine look. They are exactly as I expected. The shoes will shape to your feet as you wear them and only get more comfortable with time. For someone with structural issues in their feet and ankles, sandals of any kind were once an impossibility. SOLE flip flops changed that! Worth every penny!

Great for arch support. Just takes some stretching of the band, or adjustment of your feet.
I kept having issues with my feet from wearing flip-flops this summer, and standing barefoot on stained concrete in the kitchen. When I first put these on, the bands were pretty tight. I actually had some bruising the first few days, but maybe I just have thick feet. That said, the support is outstanding! I was willing to endue the bruising just for the support these things provided. Luckily for me they either stretched enough, or I built up tolerance to the wearing pattern of the shoes, but they no longer cause me any issues on tightness. I'd recommend the product to anyone with tired sore feet who don't want to wear support tennis shoes all the time.

Straps too tight, unwearable
Sole has no half-sizes, which is a mistake, plain and simple: half sizes exist because they're needed! This was too small, and the 9 would have been too large. The only possible way these might fit a size 8 1/2 is if the straps were looser to allow proper placement of the foot and to also avoid the pain of too tight straps. (Note: Customer service told me the grey (Echo) was out of stock and that I would be receiving a pair in black; however, that wasn't true.) Terribly disappointed; my prior pair of Sole flip-flops lasted 7 years and I still have them. Although they are wearing out, I need them because I can't find a Sole pair to replace them.

I'll buy Moszkitos next time
I own Moszkito brand flip flops and wear them all the time as they provide the extra arch support I desire. I wanted to find a comparable shoe that was less expensive and thought these SOLE shoes would work. After about 30 minutes of wearing these I had a double blister where the strap crosses my foot. Arch support is minimal and a mid foot ridge on the sole is uncomfortable. They feel like nothing more than those exerciser shoes that Kmart had two years ago for $15.00. I was a little put off by the tags attached to the shoes in the box- little blurbs like "they get more comfortable the more you wear them" yet this wasn't Sole's claim, instead some random magazine was sited for that write up. If you want to give them a try, sizing seemed to run a little large. I normally wear a 9 and ordered these in a 9, they fit fine at my heel but there seemed to be alot of shoe extending at the toe area.

Great flip flops!
So far, I am really loving these shoes. I have always been very much a flip flop person (living in a hot & humid climate right near the coast, you kind of have to be), but I know that the ones I've bought in the past aren't really the healthiest of choices for my feet or my back. These shoes are wonderful because they're very comfortable, have terrific arch support, and are still flip flops! Happy to have discovered these and will probably be buying more in other colors.

helped with my heel pain
it was difficult to spend this much money on flip flops...but i can see why. I have not been able to get rid of my plantars faciatis (not sure if i even spelled that right) because im suppose to wear sneakers...but its difficult to go to work dressed up in running shoes. I wear these...they dont replace the support of sneakers, but they are more supportive than regular flat flip flops.

Great arch support
Great arch support for plantar fasciitis and looks better than most orthotic sandals. I love it so much I ordered more SOLE sandals in other colors. The strap on this Sport Flips fits tighter than the Vionic Tide, which helps keep the sandal from flopping around on my foot.
